The Unseen Cost of Freedom

We have seen the soldiers who have been wounded or given their lives in defense of freedom in conflicts around the world, but at the airport this weekend I was reminded of some of the unseen costs of freedom. I saw a little girl crying in her mother's arms as her mother (an army major) was preparing to deploy. We need to remember the sacrifice family members are making when their fathers, sons, mothers, and daughters put themselves in harms way in the defense of freedom. If you know a family that has someone deployed, check in on them from time to time. Invite them to dinner. Offer to watch the children so the parent can have a break. Do what you can to support them until the family member returns home. Help lighten them of the unseen costs of freedom.
