Why Did the Chicken Cross the Gays?

Add Ramen Noodle Emanuel to the list of liberal mayors wanting to ban Chick-fil-a from opening restaurants in his "fair" city.  Dan Cathy, the president of Chick-fil-a had the audacity in an interview to say that his company is unapologetically in favor of traditional marriage.  Unsurprisingly, this has the liberal and GLBT special interest groups with their undies in a very tight knot.

Interestingly, the obligatory calls for a boycott (which is well within their rights as consumers) is not enough for some.  No they need government officials using governmental power to bar a private business from opening because of religious opinions held by the business owners with which they disagree.

Now last time I was at Chick-fil-a, I wasn't required to kiss my wife to prove that I was heterosexual prior to purchasing a sandwich, so I'm not sure what grounds libs have for claiming discriminatory practices.  What I really hope is that Chicago and Boston are successful in barring Chick-fil-a in opening in their cities.  

I would love to see the Supreme Court get a hold of this one!  That is, as long as Chief Justice Roberts is able to kick that meth addiction before the case reaches him. 

Leave the Boy Scouts Alone: Start the Rainbow Scouts!

Victim class activists have their unmentionables in a knot again over membership restrictions of a private organization.  First Vanderbilt Catholic was forced to drop Vanderbilt from their name after refusing to change their policy that only people who are CATHOLIC can run for leadership positions in their CATHOLIC student organization at Vanderbilt University.

Next we had our yearly "force Augusta National to allow women members" campaign at the Masters. I loved it ten years ago when the Masters said:  "Fine!  Don't worry about boycotting our commercial sponsors.  We'll just go commercial free."

This week another favorite whipping boy of the left is back in the spotlight.  It's an oldie but a goodie... the nefarious Boy Scouts.  The liberals in general and the GLBT wonks specifically are protesting, petitioning, weeping, and wailing over the ouster of a lesbian scout leader, Jennifer Tyrell, in Ohio.

Guess what?  There is nothing wrong with their protesting, petitioning, weeping, and wailing.  It is their right as Americans.  As it is also the right of the Boys Scouts, as a private organization, to determine membership requirements as they see fit.  I feel bad for Ms. Tyrell and her son.  I really do. However; she knew the membership restrictions when she signed up.  I fault the local scout leadership for telling her that it was OK.  News reports on the story state that "many" of the local troop members support her.  That's great.

It is highly unlikely that the Boy Scouts are going to change their stance on this issue.  The Supreme Court has ruled in their favor on this issue.  So I have a suggestion for Ms. Tyrell and all her supporters. Know what you can do?  It is your right.  No one can stop you.  You can start your OWN organization.  Call it the...... RAINBOW SCOUTS!  Set you own membership requirements.  Create your own programs and agendas.  No one is stopping you.  Just like you cannot force a different organization to adhere to your beliefs, no one can force your organization to adhere to their's.

It's the beauty of America.  The freedom to gather together with like-minded people and not have others' beliefs and morals forced upon you.  To get you started, I found a sample ad for your new group.  Maybe you can even use "In Your Heart Lives a Rainbow" as your motto.  It's your CHOICE.

Gay Pride Flag at US Base: BIG Obama Conundrum!

Talk about being on the horns of a dilemma!  What are our Dear Leader and his minions of insufficient light to do?

As reported on The Blaze and other news outlets, a gay pride flag has purportedly been flown at a US base located in Afghanistan.  While many different groups will certainly have opinions (some very fervent) about this, it presents a real conundrum for the president and his lefty pals.


On one hand, the Afghan people, known for their tolerant and inclusive nature (particularly towards homosexuals), could be slightly offended.  And by slightly offended, I mean only 10 to 20 Americans murdered and less than $10 million in damage from the resulting protests/riots.


On the other hand, the GLBT lobby is one of the victim class darlings of the left.  If the president makes too big a stink about this, he might lose some unicorn sprinkle points.


Rather a sticky wicket for the Prez.  How can he shamelessly grovel to our enemies in Afghanistan while pandering to the left's strategy of dividing us by creating and exploiting victim classes?  I think I'll make some popcorn, sit back, and enjoy the show.
