Happy Birthday.....To Us!

August of 2011 was dark and full of terrors.  With the 2012 Presidential campaign in full swing, the spectre of a second Obama term was looming over all of us.  I pitched the idea of a political commentary blog to Sahib, and SACSTW was born... four years ago today.

At first I thought we would occupy ourselves primarily with the election, but it didn't take long for SACSTW to careen off in another direction.  After all, there are any number of outlets where you can hear the latest banal politital analysis if you so choose.  But let's be honest...there aren't too many that cover the craziness of our world like SACSTW.

The first few weeks we were a little cautious, feeling our way through the blogosphere like the rank amateurs we were. That all changed on September 26, 2011 with the publication of Sahib's classic "Raising a Nation of Mush-Brained Wusses".  That post blazed a trail for the snark, sarcasm, and satire that is SACSTW's trademark.  Soon after, a little thing called Occupy Wall Street happened, and our cup was overflowing.

SACSTW interrupts this maudlin, self-congratulatory pablum to bring you late breaking news and definitive evidence that the devolution of Homo sapiens is nearly complete. South Carolina authorities have charged 55 year old David Hoyt with shoplifting $75 in steaks from a Food Lion store in Spartanburg County.  Seems hum drum you say?  What is interesting about another shoplifter?  Dear readers, let me assure you Mr. Hoyt is no ordinary shoplifter.  Upon questioning, Hoyt's girlfriend confirmed that the scalawag had stolen the steaks by....hiding them in his colostomy

And so it has come to this.  After 4 years, 390 posts, and with readers in over 100 countries, I find myself without words.  All because of David Hoyt and his colostomy bag of purloined protein.  

I'll just close with this.  Sahib and I have been writing partners for 4 years, and friends for almost 10 20 30, for crying out loud it has been damn near 40 years!  Happy 4th Birthday buddy!

Looming Zimmerman Verdict a Crossroads For Us All

Well, I'm back.  After a self-imposed exile over the last couple months, I just had to fire up the SACSTW presses again as we all await a verdict in the George Zimmerman trial.  Obviously this trial has dominated the news in the last couple weeks, and I've heard a lot of griping about that from some folks.  "Why should I care about that, it doesn't have anything to do with me?" is the common lament of the poorly informed.

You should care about this trial and the verdict to come if any of these are true....

1. You legally carry a concealed weapon on your person
2. You are willing to defend yourself and your loved ones against a violent attack with whatever means are available to you
3. You would like to continue to believe that the courts are impartial,  the last resort of the innocent, and are above the influence of political correctness.

All of my life, I have been told that every man gets his day in court.  That when you find yourself embroiled in a dispute, victimized by a criminal, or perhaps even charged with a crime yourself, you will be treated fairly and impartially by the American justice system.  Anything less than a complete acquittal of George Zimmerman means that all we have learned about our system no longer applies.

A conviction of this man not only means he will spend decades in prison for a crime he did not commit, it means that all of us are mere pawns to be moved around the board by the main-stream media, race baiters such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, and liberal statists like Barack "if I had a son he would look like Trayvon" Obama. 

Much is riding on the shoulders of the 6 jurors as they deliberate today.  Not just the fate of George Zimmerman, but the confidence and trust we all SHOULD be able to have in the American system of justice. There's nothing any of us can do now but wait.

It's OK Mr. President, We Understand

Dear Mr. Obama,

It's OK really.  We understand.  We realize that your remarkable lack of core principle just won't allow you to, ahem, call a spade a spade.  We know that the screams of American citizens on the streets of Boston, the severed limbs, the sidewalks smeared with blood, really don't mean a damn thing to you.

We no longer expect you, the leader of the free world, to summon up courage enough to label yesterday's bombing of the Boston Marathon what it was.......terrorism.  And it happened on your watch Mr. Obama.  Again. Fort Hood, Benghazi, and now Boston.  Oh to be sure, some unnamed White House spokesman was quick to say that the attack was being "treated as a terrorist act".  But you didn't say it.  The word never passed your lips.

Why not?  What euphemistic phrase shall we invent this time Mr. Obama?  "Work-place violence"?  "Man-made disaster"?  How about "sports-associated pyrotechnic incident"?  Or maybe "sequester-induced explosive event"?  How long before you or one of your execrable lackeys blames yesterday's attack on George W. Bush or the Tea Party?

Let me just make sure I have this straight.....While you and your posse of gun-grabbers were concentrating on tearing down the Constitutional rights of law-abiding Americans, someone was planning this...




I have no idea who is responsible....foreign Islamists, radicalized American Muslim, McVeigh wannabe, neo-Nazi skinheads, heck...maybe even your old bomb-chucker pals at the Weather Underground are getting back in the game.  Doesn't matter to me who it was, they are terrorists.  Why won't you say it?

Monday Musings With The Crew

This week's edition of Monday Musings starts with breaking news!  Do yourself a favor and sit down........Bill Maher actually said something funny!  Of course he did it unintentionally while delivering his quasi-serious political analysis......   but it was still hilarious

Maher:  "You know who the role model of every President should be?  Jimmy Carter.  Because he is the one out of all of them who figured out how to sit in office for 4 years and never fire a shot."

Look, I've got nothing personal against Jimmy Carter.  He served his country in the Navy, and by all acounts is a kind man.  He was also (until the WH's current occupant came along) the worst President in the history of our nation.  Guess what happens when a President is weak and "never fires a shot"?  Stuff like this.....

Speaking of Dear Leader, he has really sunk to a new low.  He trotted out Francine and David Wheeler, parents of a child killed in the Newtown shooting, to deliver his weekly radio address.  Exploiting a family's pain for political gain is nothing short of reprehensible, but about what we have come to expect from Barack Hussein Obama.   

Big kudos to Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) who addressed this issue on the Senate floor, and has started a campaign to gather the stories of those whose lives and families were defended and protected through the use of a firearm.  Project 2A has collected over 5000 such testimonials in a very short period of time.  Here is Senator Lee commenting on the Senate floor, it is powerful stuff.

Monday Musings With The Crew

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter weekend with their family and loved ones.  All over our nation, Americans listened to their spiritual leaders talk about new life, renewed optimism, and hopes for a better future.  Well, except for the Obamas......

• The Obamas spent Easter morning at a "worship" service at St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington, D.C.  During said service, Dear Leader and his family heard the pastor at St. John's say this.......

“It drives me crazy when the captains of the religious right are always calling us back…for blacks to be back in the back of the bus…for women to be back in the kitchen…for immigrants to be back on their side of the border,” 

Isn't that special?  My first question when I read those comments was...."When did Jeremiah Wright become pastor at St. John's in DC?".  A little further investigation revealed the pastor's name is actually Rev. Dr. Luis Leon.  I'm sure Dear Leader felt right at home hearing this garbage spewing from the pulpit.

• In other related Easter news, I found graphic video of  sweet, innocent bunnies and chicks being lined up and summarily executed with a .50 caliber rifle!  Here's the video if you can stand the gore.....

• With all the incredible things happening in Cyprus lately, I started wondering.....why does the government there feel so comfortable and secure that they will invade the bank accounts of its citizens and make off with a large chunk of their hard-earned money?  Doesn't the government fear an armed uprising from the citizenry?   Then I checked gun laws in Cyprus.....  SURPRISE!

  Cyprus has strict gun control. Private citizens are completely forbidden from owning handguns and rifles in any calber, even .22 rimfire. Only shotguns are allowed, and these require a license. Pump actions and semiautomatics are prohibited............A gun license is required to buy ammunition, and ammunition sales are recorded. ..........Cyprus also controls airguns, and airgun owners require a license.

         It is a simple, inescapable fact.  When the citizenry is disarmed, the  
       government is free to wreak havoc among the people with no fear of
       reprisal.

• While reading about gun control in Cyprus, I came across a message board forum where someone was asking if and how a person could obtain a handgun license in Cyprus.  One of the responses went something like this..... "why would anyone need a gun on Cyprus?  It's an island, criminals who commit crimes can't go anywhere, they always get caught...".  Sorry buddy, but private citizens don't want to be armed so they can help round up criminals after they commit crimes.  They want to be armed to reduce the chances they become the victim of a crime in the first place.

Dear Crew,

I wanted to let you know that I have left the Midwest, having decided after 5 years of Obama that liberalism and social progressivism really do hold the only true hope for mankind.  I have traveled to California, and intend to make it my base of operations as I feel the warm embrace of like-minded people everywhere I go.  True, the embraces are mostly from dudes in San Francisco, but I digress.  

Turning my back on the conservative rantings of SACSTW, I will now subsist solely on granola and

green beans.  I have found a commune full of friendly fellow granolans here in the San Jose area, and look forward to the day you abandon your outdated philosophies, and join me here amongst the chosen people.

Democrats: "World To End Tomorrow"

Well folks, it's been a lot of fun to write SACSTW over the couple years.  We have documented and satirized the inanity we all swim through every day, but it looks like the end is nigh.  At least according to the Democrats.

Those who were of school-age during the Cold War, remember all those "hide under your desk from ballistic missile attack" drills?  What a waste of time, the world isn't going to end in some sort of nuclear conflagration after all.

Remember all the hubbub about the end of the Mayan Calendar and the complete destruction of society that was supposed to happen on Dec. 21, 2012???   Pshaw!  The Mayans had nothing on the GOP!  At least according to the Democrats.

Yes folks, tomorrow, March 1 2013, the end of the world as we know it (TEOTWAWKI) will be upon us. The instrument of our destruction?    A 1.2% federal spending cut.  Wait, it gets worse....It's not really a cut in spending.  It is a cut in the spending increases scheduled for this year.

Look at it this way.  Let's say you make $1000 a week at your job.  This year, your pay was supposed to increase to $1100 a week.  The boss comes to you and says..."Sorry Joe Worker, we are only going to be able to increase your pay to $1086 a week this year".  AAGGGHHH!!! you say.  It's TEOTWAWKI!!!!

I would say to you "Joe, instead of howling about TEOTWAWKI, you should be on your knees thanking the boss that you still have a job, let alone one that is going to pay you more this year than last".  Particularly in light of SACSTW favorite Maxine Waters's comments about the effects of sequestration on the US labor force......

Please note Mad Maxine's claim that sequestration will cost the United States "170 million" jobs.  I really hate to bother the lovely and erudite Rep. Waters, but at any one time the US labor force numbers about 155 million.  So.......every single one of you still working out there will lose their jobs because of sequestration. In addition, 15 million of you are going to have to then go and get another job and lose it in order to satisfy Mad Maxine's predictions.  Sorry Max, math is a real bitch sometimes.  

Then there is Rep. Donna "I'll see your 170 million lost jobs and raise you millions of brutalized women" Edwards, D-MD.  In the video here, you can hear her explain how 230,000 calls to domestic violence shelters will go unanswered due to the GOP and sequestration.  Note how at the end, she ups the ante to "millions of women and children", nicely done Donna!

Obviously, domestic violence is a terrible thing.  I don't know about 230,000 calls in the middle of the night going unanswered in the future.  I do know of one in the recent past that went unanswered......the one Ambassador Chris Stevens made to Barack Obama's administration pleading for help as Islamic terrorists savaged him and 3 other brave Americans in Benghazi on Sept. 11, 2012.  What I don't remember seeing is outrage from Donna and Maxine about that unanswered call.  

Racism In A Colorado Elementary School

Aurora, CO is once again in the news.  Parents of students at Mission Viejo Elementary School in Aurora were shocked to discover that the school was instituting an after-school tutoring program for white students only.  A letter sent to parents from school principal Andre Pearson described the program and confirmed that it was for white students only.

Outrage has spread across the country, and Aurora has been descended upon by all the usual suspects.....Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Maxine Waters, etc.  MSNBC and CNN have prominently featured this story, loudly decrying Pearson as "just another cracker principal trying to keep the black kids down".

When asked about the situation, President Obama responded "Obviously, the school principal acted stupidly.  I have asked the Department of Justice to immediately stop giving guns to Mexican drug traffickers and begin a full scale investigation of Mr. Pearson and his blatantly racist policies.  In this day and age we have no tolerance for segregation in our public schools."



I know what you are thinking right about now......"Geez Crew, if this is such a big story, why haven't I heard about?".    The answer is because it isn't true, at least not the part that the liberal race-baiters care about.

Mission Viejo Principal Andre Pearson (a black man) has in fact started a racist after-school tutoring program.  The reason you haven't heard about it is that the program is for "Students of Color" only.  White folks need not apply.

The story has been largely ignored by the mainstream media, as it doesn't fit conveniently into their twisted view of equality.   Discrimination against whites is okeydokey with the Sharptons and Jacksons of the world. The next time you see one of these ignorant scumbags in front of a camera, bloviating about some illusory racism, remember Aurora.  Remember a real racist like Andre Pearson.

• Breaking News:  The Vatican announced that Pope Benedict XVI would resign the papacy effective Feb. 28, becoming the first Pope to do so since Gregory XII in 1415.  Benedict's successor will be elected by a conclave of cardinals, which interestingly enough is exactly how I got this job.  

• Here's a question.....if the proper term is "African-American", why is February "Black" History month?

• Kimberly Margeson raised a few eyebrows at a New York prison by laying an open-mouth kiss on her incarcerated son's mouth during a recent visit.  Was she just a little more lusty than current societal norms permit?  Not exactly.  She was actually passing sonny boy a few oxycodone pills via the lip-lock.  It's weird....she doesn't look anything like Alicia Silverstone!

• It's official....I'm an old geezer.  I listened to the radio news guy list the big winners at last night's Grammy Awards, and I didn't recognize a single act.  

• Nancy Pelosi made another remarkably incoherent appearance on Fox News Sunday this weekend.  A couple of the highlights...

• She blamed the current sluggish economy on the previous administration.  I'm pretty sure she meant the one before that.
• When host Chris Wallace asked Pelosi about gun control, the sage of San Francisco said this...  "We avow the First Amendment, we stand with that and say that people have the right to have a gun and defend themselves".  I feel much better knowing that great Constitutional scholars like Pelosi are entrusted with protecting my rights.  

• In direct contrast with the idiot Pelosi is SecDef Leon Panetta.  Although he is on the opposite side of the political aisle from me, I've always found Panetta to be an earnest and thoughtful man.  His recent testimony in front of the Senate about the attack in Benghazi was remarkable.  Here is a clip of him answering Sen. Ayotte's (R-NH) questions about Dear Leader's involvement that night.  Take a look....

You can hear in his voice and see in his face the pain and disgust that Obama's dereliction of duty gives him.  Obama showed absolutely no interest in the fact that our consulate was under attack, and our Ambassador and 3 other brave Americans had been murdered.  Five years ago, I would have said that it wasn't possible for the President of the United States to be so callous and disconnected.  Today, in SecondTermica, it barely makes a ripple.  We take a lot of jabs at Dear Leader here at SACSTW, but that 2 minutes of video is all you need to know what a loathsome, traitorous human being currently inhabits our White House.

Hollywood HOs Showdown- Rock vs Bennett!

This week's Hollywood Hall of Shame competition was held on Tuesday in Washington DC.  All the competitors gathered at an anti-gun press conference where they took turns competing for our hallowed award.  Amanda Peet, despite rocking the naughty librarian look, was eliminated in the early rounds.  When the dust had settled, Chris Rock and Tony Bennett were left standing as this week's Hollywood HOs finalists.

First up was Chris Rock:

"I am just here to support the President of the United States.  The President of the United States is...you know....our boss.  He's also, you know, the President and the First Lady are kinda like the mom and the dad of the country.  And when your dad says something, you listen.  Then when you don't, it usually bites you in the ass later on.  You know, I'm here to support the President.  Thank you." 

Why thank you Mr. Rock, for your thoughtful input on Constitutional rights and the problem of violent crime in America.  Forgive me if I don't play along with you "Dear Leader Daddy" fantasies, but I do appreciate your great respect for the office of the President, and for all the men who have occupied it.  You know, like George Bush........(adult language ahead)

Not to be outdone, Tony Bennett tottered up to the microphone to talk about gun violence......

"It's the kind of turn that happened to the great country of Germany, when the Nazis came over and created tragic things.  And they had to be told off....and if we continue this kind of violence accepted in our country, the rest of the world is going to really take care of us, in a very bad way."

Gee Tony, I don't even really know where to start.  I'm not quite sure where exactly the Nazis "came over" to Germany from.  I suppose Hitler was actually Austrian, but most of his demented acolytes were home-grown.  You are right that the Nazis "created tragic things".  One of the first was a disarmed citizenry.  Yep, ole Adolf and the boys were firm believers in gun control.  Der Fuhrer might have been the ultimate whack-job, but he knew that tyranny can only be complete when guns are taken away from the citizens.  

I love the part in Saving Private Ryan when the Allied forces stormed Omaha Beach....you know, they all ran right up to the Germans and told them off but good!  This might come as a shock to you Tony, but the Nazis were actually defeated by....wait for it......good guys with guns!!    

When the votes were counted, Tony Bennett had won this week's Hollywood HOs award.  His achievements in revisionist history and nation-threatening were just too good to overlook.  Better luck next time Chris!  

Barack Obama- Gun Enthusiast!

It's sad actually.  The President of the United States has so little strength of character, so little integrity, that he will pander to anyone, even evil gun owners!  Has this man ever met a constituency he wouldn't debase himself for?

By now you have probably seen the excerpts from the New Republic interview with Dear Leader swirling around on Facebook.

New Republic:  Have you ever fired a gun?

Dear Leader:  "Yes, in fact, up at Camp David we do skeet shooting all the time."

New Republic:  The whole family?

Dear Leader:  "Not the girls.  But oftentimes guests of mine go up there.  And I have a profound 
                         respect for the traditions of hunting that trace back in this country for generations...."

That flashing light and wailing siren you are now experiencing is the official SACSTW BS-O-Meter sounding the alarm!  Look people, anytime a liberal statist says the words "respect" and "hunting" in the same sentence, you know you are being fed an enormous pile of kaka.  Repeat after me.....The Second Amendment has nothing, and I mean nothing, to do with hunting or any other type of sportshooting.  To imply otherwise is simply ignorance or prevarication.

Fortunately, a covert mission by members of SHEAL Team 2 has uncovered the rest of the interview, the part that New Republic didn't want you to see, the part that proves Dear Leader is lying about going shooting "all the time".

Dear Leader:  Yes, in fact, up at Camp David we do skeet shooting all the time.  The skeets are pretty numerous up there, and we always have a good time.  Of course, I believe in eating what you harvest....skeets are a little tough and gamey sometimes, but the Camp David chef fries them up real nice, and serves them with a red wine reduction that is to die for!

Sneak Peek At Obama Inaugural Speech- Cavernous Trachea Strikes!

So there I was this weekend, driving down to the local shooting range to expend some precious metals.  I reached into my range bag for my peashooter, and flinched as my fingers brushed the envelope hidden in the bag.  My heart rate skyrocketed, my blood pressure entered the stratosphere, I may have even wet myself a little as two words echoed through my thoughts-   Cavernous Trachea!

I gingerly opened the envelope, and indeed, inside was the latest ultra-secret missive from SACSTW's anonymous source inside the Obama administration.  It had been many months since we last heard from Cavernous Trachea, and Sahib and I were concerned that he had taken up permanent residency in Fort Marcy Park.  Fears allayed, I unfolded the letter and began reading.......

Dear Sahib and Crew,
I have managed to smuggle out Dear Leader's outline for his Inaugural address on Monday.  I took the time to retype it for you as I was worried that the original blue crayon wouldn't show up well on SACSTW.........

Coronation Inaugural Address  

• Introduction
• probably should replace "my adoring subjects" with "my fellow Kenyans Americans"
• put out cigarette before taking podium
• in the name of the Prophet, don't forget to thank Michelle for her "love" and support

I folded the letter back up and replaced it in its envelope.  Cavernous Trachea had once again come through for SACSTW, but at what cost?  How much longer can CT possibly bear the stress of being undercover?  How much longer before he/she is found out, and subjected to some sort of inhuman torture?  Godspeed Cavernous Trachea.  

Inaugural Hypocrisy

Pastor Louie Giglio

Thanks to Reader Jill for pointing out the story of Pastor Louie Giglio, it's the latest in a remarkable string of hypocritical pronouncements from Dear Leader as he transforms the country into SecondTermica. In fact, the hypocrisy from the left is so Fast and Furious, I can hardly keep up with it. But I digress.

 The 54 year old Giglio is pastor at the Passion City Church in Atlanta. He was invited to give the benediction at Dear Leader's upcoming inaugural. The invitation was rescinded when some complained about a Giglio sermon some 20 years ago in which the pastor described homosexuality as "a sin", and asked his followers to "lovingly but firmly respond to the aggressive agenda" of gay activists.

Huh!  A Christian pastor who says in a sermon that homosexuality is a sin.  I wonder where he got that sort of bizarre notion?  Perhaps he read it somewhere.  But I digress.

Here is the official statement from the Presidential Inaugural Committee.....

"We were not aware of Pastor Giglio's past comments at the time of his selection, and they don't reflect our desire to celebrate the strength and diversity of our country at this inaugural.  Pastor Giglio was asked to deliver the benediction in large part because of his leadership in combating human trafficking around the world.  As we now work to select someone to deliver the benediction, we will ensure their beliefs reflect this administration's vision of inclusion and acceptance for all Americans."

As Jill duly noted, this administration's definition of "all Americans" is somewhat less than inclusive, as the millions of Christians who live by Biblical principles are apparently not welcome.

At least Obama is consistent when it comes to pastors, I mean he was determined to put Jeremiah Wright's foul diatribes front and center when he ran in 2008, and not brush them off as comments from years ago by someone he barely knows.  Oh no wait, it was the other way around with Pastor Wright.  Man, keeping up with the misdirection and prevarication from our President and his minions is taxing even to my significant intellect!

inclusion and acceptance.

In closing, let us fondly look back at the "inclusive" words from Dr. Joseph Lowrey's benediction on Inauguration Day, 2009.  White people, can't you just feel the love and acceptance from Dr. Lowrey in these touching words.......

"we ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back, when brown can stick around, when yellow will be mellow, when the red man can get ahead man, and WHEN WHITE WILL EMBRACE WHAT IS RIGHT"  (emphasis mine)

Dr. Lowrey evidently feels that whites have not embraced what is right in the interim, as he told a 2012 campaign crowd in October that "all white people are going to hell".  But I digress.

At least one segment of the economy is in absolute afterburner here in Secondtermica, the firearms industry.  One month after Newtown, as the nanny staters and progressive tyrants spool up their anti-gun crusade, guns and ammo are flying off shelves all across the country.  Prices going up, inventories going down, long waits for product, etc etc.  I went to my local range this past weekend to do a little practice shooting.  Inside the range was the typical "Employee of the Month" pictures on the wall.  The January frame held a lovely portrait of Senator Dianne Feinstein!

Not to be outdone, Senator Schumer (D-NY) came out Sunday to plead with retailers to voluntarily suspend sales of certain types of firearms pending further congressional action.




I am anxiously awaiting President Obama's urgent call to Ford and GM to suspend sales of all automobiles until Congress can decide what to do about the 30,000 deaths their products inflict on unsuspecting citizens each year.

Monday Musings With The Crew

Well, it's been another fun-filled week here in the United States of SecondTermica.

• Apparently flu season is in full swing around the nation, and some of the 57 states are reporting vaccine shortages.  Outgoing SecState Hillary Clinton has ripped the admnistration for the vaccine shortage, saying "They're more interested in tax cuts for the rich than for flu shots for everyone who needs them".  SecState nominee John Kerry chimed in, blasting the President by saying "If you can't get flu vaccines to Americans, how are you going to protect them against bioterrorism?  If you can't get flu vaccines to Americans, what kind of health care program are you running?".   Oh, wait a second.  Those quotes from Clinton and Kerry were from 2004, blaming the Bush Administration for flu vaccine shortages.  Sorry, my bad.  

• The crazy was running on high in my home state of Missouri last week.....   Paul Potter of Kirksville was charged with murdering a man and setting a fire to cover the crime.  Witnesses in the public housing development in Kirksville reported Potter throwing objects at them.  The objects were later identified as the detached arms of Potter's victim.  No word yet on how he managed to stab his victim to death and dismember him with an AR-15.  Wait, wait, wait,  now I'm being told that no guns were used in the commission of this crime!  Well then, move along folks, nothing to see here.  Please be sure to duck as the severed limbs whirl overhead.

• Interesting developments in the Aceh province of Indonesia.  Sharia law was introduced to Aceh in 2009, and a new regulation based on Islamic law is being introduced.  Women will no longer be allowed to straddle motorcycles as that position accentuates a woman's curves.  Sidesaddle only ladies!  I'm sure this can somehow be traced back to the Republican's war on women.

• What the heck was Jodie Foster talking about??

• Didn't the Denver Broncos win an overtime playoff game last season with Tim Tebow at quarterback?  

• Here is my New Year's plea to all the lefty statists out there......Can we all just put our cards on the table?  Quit hiding behind bans of high-capacity magazines, Evil Black Rifles, smoking in bars, 32 oz sodas, blah blah blah.  I would have more respect for you if you would just come clean and tell the truth.  You want to ban private ownership of firearms, ban tobacco products, ban sugar, etc etc.  Then we can have a real nuts and bolts battle for the soul of this country.  Unfortunately, liberal tyrants are masters of incrementalism, gradually eroding both our liberty and the document that sustains it, slowly bleeding the personal responsibility from our collective pysche until we have no recourse other than to grovel at their feet for whatever pittance they deem us to deserve.  Yeah, I'm talking about you Mayor Bloomberg.

Monday Musings With The Crew

• All of this bashing of Obama for FEMA's handling of Hurricane Sandy has got to stop.  Oh wait, there hasn't been any bashing of Obama for Sandy, I'm confusing it with the incessant Bush-bashing over Katrina.  Well, the federal response to Sandy has been much better than Katrina, right?  Uh, maybe not.  According to a story at foxnews.com, early responders to Sandy were told to "go sight-seeing".  Interesting quote from one worker....."I worked in Katrina and Katrina was run better than Sandy".  

• Yesterday was the first day same sex marriages could be performed legally in the state of Washington, and let me tell you it was FABULOUS!  I've included a few snapshots so SACSTW readers could enjoy from afar......

Honestly, I've got no real beef with these people.  I guess it's the Libertarian in me, but same-sex marriage ranks pretty low on my list of threats to our country's future.  Unless of course Barney Frank is involved.

• This morning I found a hilarious parody of whitehouse.gov.  The page on the 2012 Obama Vacation is must read stuff..... I love the "if Congress doesn't act" vacation delay countdown timer!  Here is what is not so funny.  I didn't realize the page was a parody until I visited it a second time.  That folks, is a sad commentary on what we've come to expect from George and Weezy Obama.

• Alberto Diaz Gonzalez pled guilty to smuggling charges in federal court last Thursday.  Upon returning to Miami from Cuba, Gonzalez was found to be hiding 16 Cuban bullfinches......in his pants.  Gonzalez admitted to intending to sell the smuggled birds.  Kind of reminds me of the old joke about the guy taking his duck to the movies,  but I digress.

The Crew's Monday Morning Math Lesson

I suppose there is a reason I'm not in the election prediction business, it didn't go so well for me (or the country for that matter) last week.  I underestimated how thoroughly the progressivist entitlement cancer, seeded by Presidents Wilson and Roosevelt, had metastasized through the body of the American electorate.  

Since his re-election, Dear Leader has said that he will not support any fiscal plans that do not involve the rich paying higher taxes.  We've heard it all before, it's time for the rich to start "paying their fair share" in order to dig the country out of the financial hellhole it finds itself in.  

Attention Class, please open your Math With The Crew textbooks to page 27.  We will start today looking at tax data for 2009, as it is the most recent that is readily available. Let's establish some facts...

• in 2009, the top 1% had a total Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) of 1.324 trillion dollars.
• of that 1.324 trillion dollars, they paid 0.318 trillion dollars in federal income tax.

Let's say for the sake of this exercise, the federal government freezes spending today, and continues to operate indefinitely with the 1 trillion dollar annual deficit it currently has.  Given that the national debt is 16 trillion dollars, here is the question...

Q: How long will it take (based on 2009 data) to pay off the national debt if we taxed the top 1% at 100% of their adjusted gross income?  Scroll down for the answer.....

A:  The answer is a smidge under 267 years.  Yep, if we take every penny the top 1% make, and make sure the feds don't spend one more nickel a year than they do now,  we'll all be in high cotton in time for the 2279 Christmas shopping season.  Well, except for the top 1%, they'll all be broke.

 Class, repeat after me.....

The federal government is in this fiscal nightmare because of runaway spending, not because the top 1% are not paying their share. 

Gee I Wish Obama was White!

You know devoted readers, I really wish Bronco Bama was white.  I'm really tired of every criticism of him and his big government socialistic policies somehow being racist.  I've seen some accusations that require  mental gymnastics with more spins and twists than a McKayla Maroney vault.  Granted there are some people out there making racist comments like:

• At least I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.
• He is light-skinned African American with no Negro dialect.

Anyone who says something like that should be publicly shunned and should lose their jobs right?  Unfortunately, our fellow citizens decided that Joe Biden and Harry Reid deserve to keep their jobs.  Anyone who has any desire (and the stomach) to see a sample of how the "tolerant" left handles African Americans with whom they disagree, check out what they had to say about actress Stacey Dash on Twitter when she had the temerity to voice her support of Mitt Romney before the election.

BUT WAIT!!!!!  How did I miss it!  He's wearing a brown bear costume.  You know... brown like African Americans have brown skin.  And a bear... you know that President Obama used to go by Barry. That's the most thinly veiled racist attack on the president I have ever seen!  I am embarrassed that I posted his video on my blog.  But rats!  I can't figure out how to delete it so it will have to stay.

Well, I guess I'll just have to live with four more years of The Crew and I being branded racists until 2016 when Hilary runs... and then we get to be sexist.  Buck up little campers.  At least it won't be boring.

America Needs You Today

Time and time again throughout its history, the United States of America has been there for others during their darkest hours.  It has been the brightest point of light for untold millions to look to for inspiration, hope, and the chance for freedom.

Today, it is America that is in need.  Please answer her pleas for help today at the ballot box.  This is our last chance to peacefully restore America to the path she has carved out over the last 236 years.  

Barack Obama's promise to "fundamentally transform" America will come to grotesque fruition in a second term.  Freed from the need to curry political favor, he will run roughshod over the Constitution, over your personal liberties, and over the very foundation of our country.  

Americans have always answered the call when others around the globe have been in need.  Today we are the ones in need.  Please vote today to save this great country.
