Monday Musings With The Crew

  • Something is happening in Philadelphia that should terrify you to your very core.  Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter has directed the Philadelphia Human Rights Commission to investigate Philadelphia Magazine.  You see, the magazine dared to publish an essay about race relations that was authored by a white journalist and that contained quotes and opinions from white citizens of Philadelphia.  Mayor Nutter called the piece "disgusting", and described the white citizens quoted in the article as "too cowardly" to use their names.  Here's my opinion.......Mayor Nutter is just one more in a long line of race-baiting progressives who will do anything it takes to shut white people up.  He is despicable, intellectually dishonest, and a threat to every freedom-loving American of any color.  Read the Philadelphia Magazine article here, and decide for yourself.

  • Pew Research Center has released an interesting study of cable news outlets, comparing time spent reporting factual news vs time spent on opinion and commentary.  CNN led the way, spending 54% of its time reporting the news, and 46% opining about it.  Fox News was next, with 45% hard news and 55% opinion.  A distant third were the pyschopathic leftists at MSNBC, who spend 15% of their time reporting the news, and an astounding 85% of their time spewing filth about it.  Me? I think 15% sounds pretty high for MSNBC's actual news coverage.

  • Barack Obama, the great centrist, has nominated a hard left radical to fill his Cabinet's empty slot at Labor.  Tom Perez is a dangerous man, and should be allowed nowhere near a presidential Cabinet post.  Senate Republicans must derail this nomination at any cost.  Read more about Mr. Perez and the Inspector General's report on his gross misdeed's while at the Dept. of Justice here.

I'd give her a million bucks in taxpayer funds
just to go away....
  • And then there's this......   The federal government has awarded a Harvard-associated hospital $1.5 million of Other People's Money (OPM) to research why lesbians are so fat.  According to the grant application, 75% of lesbians are obese.  Look, only one of two things can be happening here.  Either Rosie O'Donnell is just skewing the curve for everybody, or.....dare I suggest it.......maybe this is nothing more than the classic chicken and egg scenario.

  • Finally, in a remarkable example of typecasting, Barack Obama is apparently playing Satan in the current History Channel hit "The Bible".  The big baddie himself showed up in last night's episode, and the internet exploded with the amazing similarity the character had to Dear Leader.....here is Glenn Beck's tweet on the topic.......

Racism In A Colorado Elementary School

Aurora, CO is once again in the news.  Parents of students at Mission Viejo Elementary School in Aurora were shocked to discover that the school was instituting an after-school tutoring program for white students only.  A letter sent to parents from school principal Andre Pearson described the program and confirmed that it was for white students only.

Outrage has spread across the country, and Aurora has been descended upon by all the usual suspects.....Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Maxine Waters, etc.  MSNBC and CNN have prominently featured this story, loudly decrying Pearson as "just another cracker principal trying to keep the black kids down".

When asked about the situation, President Obama responded "Obviously, the school principal acted stupidly.  I have asked the Department of Justice to immediately stop giving guns to Mexican drug traffickers and begin a full scale investigation of Mr. Pearson and his blatantly racist policies.  In this day and age we have no tolerance for segregation in our public schools."

I know what you are thinking right about now......"Geez Crew, if this is such a big story, why haven't I heard about?".    The answer is because it isn't true, at least not the part that the liberal race-baiters care about.

Mission Viejo Principal Andre Pearson (a black man) has in fact started a racist after-school tutoring program.  The reason you haven't heard about it is that the program is for "Students of Color" only.  White folks need not apply.

The story has been largely ignored by the mainstream media, as it doesn't fit conveniently into their twisted view of equality.   Discrimination against whites is okeydokey with the Sharptons and Jacksons of the world. The next time you see one of these ignorant scumbags in front of a camera, bloviating about some illusory racism, remember Aurora.  Remember a real racist like Andre Pearson.

The only news coverage I could find of the story is from the CBC station in Denver.  Their report is below...

Gee I Wish Obama was White!

You know devoted readers, I really wish Bronco Bama was white.  I'm really tired of every criticism of him and his big government socialistic policies somehow being racist.  I've seen some accusations that require  mental gymnastics with more spins and twists than a McKayla Maroney vault.  Granted there are some people out there making racist comments like:
  • At least I mean, you got the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean.
  • He is light-skinned African American with no Negro dialect.
Anyone who says something like that should be publicly shunned and should lose their jobs right?  Unfortunately, our fellow citizens decided that Joe Biden and Harry Reid deserve to keep their jobs.  Anyone who has any desire (and the stomach) to see a sample of how the "tolerant" left handles African Americans with whom they disagree, check out what they had to say about actress Stacey Dash on Twitter when she had the temerity to voice her support of Mitt Romney before the election.

Fortunately, there are still a few intrepid Americans trying to educate our children about Obamanomics as Steven Crowder is doing in this hard-hitting video:

BUT WAIT!!!!!  How did I miss it!  He's wearing a brown bear costume.  You know... brown like African Americans have brown skin.  And a bear... you know that President Obama used to go by Barry. That's the most thinly veiled racist attack on the president I have ever seen!  I am embarrassed that I posted his video on my blog.  But rats!  I can't figure out how to delete it so it will have to stay.

Well, I guess I'll just have to live with four more years of The Crew and I being branded racists until 2016 when Hilary runs... and then we get to be sexist.  Buck up little campers.  At least it won't be boring.

NAACP To Members- You Can't Handle The Truth!

Geez, who knew that the NAACP convention was so much fun?  I may just have to take a week off and cover it in person next year!  After all, what could be more entertaining than watching tyrannical black statists like Emanuel Cleaver and Hilary Shelton demean and deride the black electorate?  In fine Colonel Jessup fashion, Cleaver, Shelton, and others have in essence said that NAACP members are too dim-witted to be treated with respect and honesty by Mitt Romney.

When Romney addressed the NAACP convention (something our black President hasn't done since 2009) this week, he delivered the same campaign speech he does at virtually every other campaign stop.  He did so  without regard to his audience's color or political leanings.  In other words, he didn't treat the NAACP audience any differently than when he spoke at the latest WHAMO conference.  He treated the NAACP with honesty and respect by laying out his plans should he be elected President, including repealing Obamacare.

That didn't go over well with Cleaver and Shelton (NAACP Washington Bureau Director and Senior Vice-President).  Because Romney didn't "speak to his audience", the NAACP bigwigs have accused him of racism and worse.  Sorry Hilary, but"speaking to your audience" is all well and good if you are doing a career day at the local elementary school, but if a presidential candidate does it to an audience of adults it is called pandering.

During his speech, Romney stated his desire to overturn Obamacare, help bring down the 14.4 % unemployment rate among blacks, and improve education for all Americans.

Here is what Cleaver and Shelton would have you believe Romney actually meant.....

"Alright you lazy shiftless homeboys, time for you to put the crack pipe down, stop banging every sister in sight, get off the couch and get a job"

Even more despicable, some (including the ever lucid Nancy Pelosi)  have suggested that Romney intentionally elicited the boos from the NAACP in order to rile up the racist crackers that are the conservative electorate.  Last night, Bill O'Reilly gave Hilary Shelton the chance to distance the NAACP from such bizarre accusations, but he demurred.  The subsequent interview was Bill O'Reilly at his finest, and a truly frightening look into the mind of the progressive black establishment.

Rep. Cleaver- Criticizing Obamacare is racism!

My old buddy (and congressman) Emanuel Cleaver is at it again.  His comments after Mitt Romney's appearance at this week's NAACP convention would suggest that the good Reverend believes any criticism of Barack Obama is racism, particularly when said in front of a group such as the NAACP.

Yes, Romney was booed when he promised to repeal Obamacare.  Hey, I'm sure that didn't come as any great surprise to the GOP nominee.  What many mainstream media outlets aren't telling you is that the NAACP cheered Romney when he talked about the importance of issues like traditional marriage, jobs, and family.

I planned to use this space to go on a diatribe against the despical Emanuel Cleaver, until I found this video from a SACSTW favorite, Kira Davis.  On Feb. 29, we posted one of Kira's videos, and that has gone on to be the most-viewed post in SACSTW history.  Well, Kira has hit another home run with her response to Congressman Cleaver........

Rush and Hitler, One and the Same??

For 24 years, the left has been gnashing their teeth and wadding their britches over Rush Limbaugh.  One of their favorite narratives is the "Rush is the new Hitler" fable.  That particular bit of nastiness recently cropped up again in a letter to the editor of the Examiner, a daily newspaper in Independence, MO.  You can read the letter in its grotesque entirety here.  A couple excerpts should give you the jist of the letter, and are provided below:

"Back in the 1930s, there was a man who began spouting hatred against other people. Folks must have thought “Oh well, it doesn’t affect me, so they didn’t say anything.” Even the folks being maligned didn’t say anything. Maybe they thought thoughts about Free Speech and such so went on their way, living their lives, ignoring the hatred speeches. After awhile, the man had a following and that following grew. Good people continued to ignore it, not imagining that it could ever go anywhere, perhaps thinking it would die out. Well it didn’t, and millions of people were incinerated in ovens."

"Some are speaking out against Limbaugh's hate rhetoric.  Others are ignoring it, thinking thoughts of free speech, thinking it can not possibly go anywhere or affect them in any way.  Have we as intelligent knowledgeable people learned from what happened in World War 2?  Is it our duty to stand up and speak out against hatred speeches like Limbaugh's?  ..........................................

It's time to do something about radio hosts using their positions to spread hate........

SACSTW was made aware of this letter by loyal reader Jeff W, who subscribes to the paper in question.  Jeff wrote a guest column in the Examiner yesterday in response to the letter, and was kind enough to allow SACSTW to run that column here.........

Ah, the tired old "Rush Limbaugh is Hitler" theory has reared its ugly head again , this time from JanMarie Sajna.  According to Ms. Sajna, Rush's "bigoted hate rhetoric" should be removed from the airwaves forthwith.  To do otherwise invites another Holocaust according to her twisted logic.  Noticeably lacking from her letter was the one thing ALWAYS lacking when lefty bomb-throwers get their reticle on Rush.....examples of his "hatred speech".  I'll wager that like most of her ilk, Ms. Sajna has never listened to Rush's show for any length of time.  They simply regurgitate what they have been force-fed by paragons of truth like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, and Barack Obama.  Very predictable and trite Ms. Sajna, can't the left come up with anything innovative with which to attack Rush?  Actually, I would suppose that many victims of the Holocaust and their families might find you comparing the man who caused their suffering to a radio talk-show host quite deplorable.

You urge us to stop assuming and check the facts.  I have checked and rechecked your letter, and can find only unfounded opinion, historical inaccuracies, and ad-hominem attacks.  Hitler began his vile rise to power long before the 1930's.  In fact, it began in 1919 when he joined what would become the Nazi Party.  In 14 years, he had become Chancellor of Germany.  In another 12 years, he had steamrolled an entire continent, murdered millions of civilians, and died by his own hand.  By contrast, in his 24 year career as a public figure, Rush has helped thousands enjoy economic prosperity, entertained tens of millions, and murdered exactly no one. I suppose if Rush is the next Hitler in your world, he better pick up the pace!

Here are a couple things you might not know about Rush Limbaugh.  He recently completed the 22nd consecutive year of his Radiothon for Leukemia and Lymphoma.  Over the course of those 22 years, Rush and his listeners have donated over 30 million dollars to aid in the fight against leukemia and lymphoma.  Rush's personal donations to the Radiothon total $900,000 in the last two years alone.   In addition, Rush made a 2.1 million dollar donation in 2007 to the Marine Corps and Law Enforcement Foundation, which benefits the children of Marines and law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty.  In September of 2009, Rush donated $500,000 to the House Ear Institute in memory of the physician who helped save his hearing.  Rush also makes numerous other charitable donations that never see the light of day, he does it because he believes it to be the right thing, not because he wants the publicity.  Now I admit this next point is purely a guess on my part, but I'm pretty sure that Rush doesn't earmark his charitable donations "for whites only".

Take a few minutes and think about all the other businesses that have blossomed since 1988 under the benevolent glow of Rush's golden microphone.  Heck, he singlehandedly saved the entire talk-radio industry.  Hundreds of AM radio stations with thousands of employees owe their success in large part to Rush Limbaugh.  I'm going to guess again that many of those employees are minorities that Rush supposedly "hates".  Countless companies both national and local have seen sales skyrocket when they advertise on the Excellence in Broadcasting Network.  My keen intuition leads me to believe that those companies are not 100% Caucasian either.  The Rush Limbaugh Radio Show is truly a rising tide that lifts all ships.

Finally Ms. Sajna, I have a challenge for you and anyone else who read your letter and thought "You go girl, Rush is as bad as Hitler!".  Listen to his show for at least 60 minutes every day for two weeks.  Since you probably don't know, he is on KMBZ 980 AM from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Monday through Friday.  Write down every example of "bigoted hate rhetoric" you hear, and record them in the comments section for this letter at www.examiner.net for all of us to see.  Here's your chance to prove me wrong.

Monday Musings With The Crew

  • Judges, court staff, and attorneys involved in the U.S. Ninth District Court of Appeals are planning a hootenanny this summer on Maui, and you and I are expected to foot the bill.  Looks like taxpayers will be on the hook for about a cool million according to Big Government.  At first I was steamed, as I usually am when government elitists take another hit of OPM (Other People's Money).  Then I reconsidered.  Anything that we can do to keep the judges of the Ninth out of the courtroom is money well spent.  Party on Judge!
  • Remember Abdel Baset al-Megrahi?  Convicted of the Pan Am Lockerbie bombing that killed 270 people, al-Megrahi received a life sentence in the Scottish court system.  Unbelievably, the Scots released him in 2009 after he served only 8 years on humanitarian issues.  You see, the killer had prostate cancer, and had only a few days to weeks left to live when he was released August 20, 2009.  He returned to a hero's welcome in Libya, and went on to live in a villa in Tripoli.  Well, the monster who had only weeks to live in the summer of 2009, died yesterday, May 20, 2012.  This terrorist enjoyed 33 months of life and freedom that he didn't deserve.  What a great world!
  • The whole "Trayvon Martin as a beatific cherub" narrative is slowly crumbling down around the ears of the race-baiters.  George Zimmerman's broken nose, his lacerated scalp, his 14 cries for help recorded on a 911 call, witness statements that indicated "the guy in the hoodie was beating the other guy MMA style", illegal drugs in Martin's system, would suggest to all but the most dogged of race-baiters that George Zimmerman shot Trayvon Martin in self-defense.  There, I said it.
  • Ladies and Gentlemen......The BeeGee!   Sadly, the brothers Gibb are down to one with the death of Robin Gibb over the weekend at age 62.  Coupled with the death of disco queen Donna Summer last week, it has been a very bad few days for pop icons of the '70s.  The BeeGees and Summer were both monumental talents who produced the teen soundtrack for many of our lives.  They will be sorely missed.
Hey, Sahib and I have that same jacket!

Culturally Influenced is NOT Racially Motivated!

*Editor's question:  Does anyone with three active brain cells actually believe that no one in the Sanford, Florida police department or district attorney's office has any sense of self-preservation?  As I state later in this post, I do not know what happened between Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman.  A nation-wide campaign of hysteria is demanding the arrest of George Zimmerman and yet he has not been arrested.  The question is, why?  The pressure on the law enforcement agencies of Sanford, Florida must be immense.  The president is comparing Trayvon Martin to his much-beloved fictitious son for goodness sake!  So again, we need to ask, why?  I bet Sanford officials would LOVE to arrest George Zimmerman and throw him in shackles immediately.  Unless they are willingly sacrificing themselves for George Zimmerman, I would think the evidence corroborating his story  would have to be compelling.  We shall see. And now on with the show!

Prejudice and stereotypes are GOOD!  They save lives every day.  Before we get started, lets take a look at the definitions of prejudice and stereotype:
Prejudice (noun)
1. opinion formed beforehand or without knowledge
Stereotype (noun)
1. A conventional, formulaic, and oversimplified conception, opinion, or image.

With the PC Liberal propaganda campaign, these terms have come to have extraordinarily negative meanings. However, without prejudice specifically and stereotypes in general, we would struggle to make it through the day.

Let's start with an example of how prejudice and stereotyping keeps us safe.  You are travelling down a 4-lane interstate.  You anticipate passing, on the left, a slower vehicle going the same direction as you travelling in the right lane.   The vehicle in the right lane turns on its left turn signal indicator.  You slow down and do not attempt to pass the vehicle in the right lane.  Why?  Because you "pre-judge" that the car in the right-hand lane is going to move in front of you and obstruct your ability to safely pass them. From previous experience, you have "stereotyped" cars that have on their turn-signal indicators.  Does this mean that the car is actually going to move into your lane?  Of course not.  But your experience has taught you that this is the most likely scenario.
Does this make you a bad person?  Are you unfairly judging the car in the right-hand lane?  I mean, just because 95% of cars with their turn-signals on actually turn, doesn't mean that ALL cars with their turn-signals on will turn.

Here is a more specific scenario.  You are walking down a city street late at night.  You are following a black man in a three-piece suit carrying a briefcase.  He turns to face you, sets his briefcase down, says "excuse me", and reaches in his jacket pocket.  Are you frightened or alarmed?  I wouldn't be.  Why?  Because I have "prejudged" and "stereotyped" people in suits, with briefcases, and that say "excuse me" to not be threats.

Now say that same black man is wearing a hoodie, baggy jeans, and is carrying a paper bag.  He turns to face you, drops the bag, says "Yo!", and reaches into the pocket of his hoodie.  Are you frightened or alarmed now?  I would be.

Was my reaction based on race?  No, it was base on cultural prejudice and stereotypes.  Was it even right?  Perhaps not.  Maybe the black man in the suit was Barack Obama planning to tell me he was raising my taxes, shipping guns to Mexican drug cartels, and generally ignoring the parts of the constitution he finds inconvenient.  Conversely,  perhaps the black man in the hoodie was pulling out a piece of paper with an address and asking for directions.  The human brain uses past experiences and knowledge to evaluate the most likely outcome and responds to that evaluation.

Now lets say that the man in the hoodie was going to ask for directions.  However, based on my prejudice and stereotypes, I make the horrible mistake of pulling out a gun and shooting him due to fear.  Was that a racially motivated "hate-crime"?   Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and probably Barack Obama would say yes!  I would submit to you, devoted readers, that it would have been a culturally influenced terrible mistake.  A mistake for which I should be punished, but should not be classified as a racially motivated "hate-crime".

Now I do not know what transpired between Trayvon Martin and George Zimmerman.  Only George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin were privy to that information.  Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and other civil rights "activists" portray Trayvon as an innocent upstanding young man who was just going home, and portray George Zimmerman as a racist who hunted him down and murdered him in cold blood. Some news outlets are telling a completely different story.  Regardless of what happened, it was a tragic event.

What adds to the tragedy is that some people are using Trayvon Martin's family's, and George Zimmerman's, pain and suffering to bolster their reputations and forward their political agendas.  Al Sharpton has done this before.  Need a reminder?  Google Tawana Brawley.

Regardless of the specific events, it's definitely comforting that bastions of peace, love, and good will, the New Black Panthers, are handling the situation with decorum and restraint.  Their call for patience and understanding can be found here:  NewBlackPanther.com

Fearful reactions based on cultural influence ARE NOT equivalent to racially motivated hate-crimes.

USA USA USA! Must Be Racist Gangbangers!

Tough day at work for the Crew.  What with the mild winter we've had, it's getting harder and harder to find good baby seal clubbing ground.  Anyway, I digress.  I settle down in front of my computer, only to learn that the name of my country is now classified as a racist attack.

At a high school basketball game in San Antonio, the student section of the winning team apparently started chanting USA, USA, USA as the game wound down.  For the record, the winning school (Alamo Heights High) is primarily Caucasian and the losing school (Thomas Edison High) is primarily Hispanic.  Predictably, officials from Thomas Edison were offended and perceived the chant as racist.

Here is the issue being discussed on Fox News program The Five.....

At around the 7:30 mark in the video, Juan Williams compares the incident to one that SACSTW covered here.  In that incident, high school students in the People's Republic of California were deemed to have been racially offensive to Hispanic students. Their crime...wearing Tshirts depicting the American flag.  Unbelievably, Juan Williams equated that with "wearing gang colors".  Let me tell you folks, if red, white, and blue are the new gang colors, then patch me in.

The take-home message about the USA chant from those who took offense is that the chant was out of context because the game was not an "international" contest.  The game was between two schools located in the USA, with the students on both sides being Americans.

Hmmm, somebody better tell Rosalba Aguillon.  Ms. Aguillon is a student at Thomas Edison High, and was interviewed about the incident by Fox News.  She explained that she was offended "coming from a school that has mainly Mexicans. I feel that was wrong, they shouldn't have chanted that".

In fact, it is much ado about nothing.  Sound engineers in the SACSTW research lab have uncovered the truth behind the chanting at Alamo Heights High.  The students were simply celebrating Tom Vilsack's recent announcement of 1.2 million in federal grant money made available for rural Texans.  That's right, if you listen closely you can hear the students lusty cry of USDA, USDA, USDA!  It brings a tear to my eye to see youngsters so supportive of bloated federal bureaucracies.  Touching really.

Gotta run for now, I'm going to head down to the creek and catch a mess of snail darters for lunch.  Tasty little critters, but you need a bucket full to make a decent meal.

O'Reilly Harpoons "Moby" Dick Harpootlian on MLK Day Hypocrisy

Like Melville's Ahab, Bill O'Reilly buried a harpoon deep in the bloated belly of southern Democrats on his show that aired on Martin Luther King Day this week.  As veteran SACSTW readers know, one of our favorite themes is skewering the hypocrisy of the left, and it has never been done better than Officer O'Reilly did on Monday evening.

Let's set the stage.  As we all know, the GOP held a debate in South Carolina on MLK day.  This caused great offense and consternation to Dick Harpootlian, the chairman of the South Carolina state Democratic Party.  If the name sounds familiar, he is the guy who made these reasoned and thoughtful comments about the GOP primary season on Megan Kelly's show:

So, the chairman of the state Democratic Party of South Carolina isn't worried about offending vertically challenged voters because  "I don't think they can reach the machine....".  You know, the sensitivity and compassion of the left is striking.  But I digress.

On Monday, Harpootlian made it clear that he thought by holding a debate on MLK day, the GOP was ignoring Dr. King's birthday, and showing its racism and disregard for the black voters in South Carolina.  Officer O'Reilly asked (rather gently I might add) Moby Dick if he knew what happened on MLK day in 2008.  After much stammering and dodging, Harpootlian grudgingly admitted that the Democratic Party held a Presidential debate on MLK day in 2008, sponsored by the Congressional Black Caucus.  So, to review,
Democrats debating on MLK day GOOD, Republicans debating on MLK day RACIST and OFFENSIVE.

As I have mentioned before (referring to Mitt Romney in fact), the best way to evaulate these talking heads is to look for those little moments when they drop their guard (although I'm not sure Harpootlian has one) and say something that illuminates the dark recesses of their core philosophy.  Harpootlian did just that when his conversation with O'Reilly turned to the presidential election of 1860.  Incredibly, Moby Dick said that GOP candidates Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich were injecting race into the 2012 election by referring to it as "the most important election since 1860".

What happened in the presidential election of 1860?  Americans elected a Republican President who guided the nation through its most turbulent years, preserved the United States for future generations, and oh yeah, freed millions of blacks from the chains of slavery.  Those are plain, simple facts that can not be disputed by anyone.  Harpootlian's comment on the election of 1860...."We in the South have a little different version of what happened in 1860".  Wow, even for the jaded and cynical Crew it was hard to believe he admitted that.
Behind those words lurks the dark and twisted soul of the Democrat Party.

I'm guessing that the South Carolina Democratic Party Chairman's "version" of what happened in 1860 goes something like this:

That damn cracker Lincoln came in and stole the election away from mah man John Breckinridge!  Then he told us God-fearin Southerners that we couldn't keep those blacks (probably not the word he was thinking) in our fields anymore, and we ended up having to pick our own damn cotton!

Here is the video from the O'Reilly factor- see for yourself what the Democrat Party of South Carolina thinks:

Monday Musings With The Crew

  • Right off the bat in this issue of Monday Musings, let's talk MLK.  What would Martin Luther King think about the callous hoodwinking of black Americans by the Democratic Party?  Democrats constantly reinforce the idea that blacks in America are dependent on governmental largesse for their very existence, not capable of making their own way in today's world.  I believe Dr. King might find that particularly offensive.  How many of the millions taking today off will spend even a moment thinking about Dr. King?  Not many I'm afraid.  For the record, the Crew is spending today doing what Dr. King believed in.....working hard to support myself and my family.

  • Michael Moore is the most famous movie maker in the country, his films are constantly shown on national TV.  Uh, Crew you say, what about Scorsese, Spielberg, Eastwood, et al?  Hell, what about the Farrelly brothers?  Sorry, I forgot to mention the country referred to in this musing is Iran.  Hey, I didn't say it, this guy did.
    • Late-breaking update to the Michael Moore story.  Iran's most popular filmmaker says if you are white, over 29, and didn't vote for Obama, you are a racist, homophobic pig.  Hmmm, just what is he trying to say about Obama?
  • The most sensible response to the "golden shower" administered to some room-temperature Taliban fighters by U.S. Marines comes from one of my heroes (and fellow KState grad)....U.S. Rep Allen West, (R-Fl).  If you don't know much about Lt. Col. West, take a little time today to research him.  West sent an email to the Weekly Standard that read in part:
“The Marines were wrong. Give them a maximum punishment under field grade level Article 15 (non-judicial punishment), place a General Officer level letter of reprimand in their personnel file, and have them in full dress uniform stand before their Battalion, each personally apologize to God, Country, and Corps videotaped and conclude by singing the full US Marine Corps Hymn without a teleprompter.“As for everyone else, unless you have been shot at by the Taliban, shut your mouth, war is hell.”

Read the rest of the email here.

  • A dozen students at a Portland area high school were injured on Friday during a science class experiment that went awry.  The accidental combination of water and volatile metal produced a small explosion and an irritating gas.  The students were transported to area hospitals and treated for respiratory problems.  All are expected to fully recover.  I mention this only because it brings back fond memories of Sahib and Crew toiling away for many hours in biology class.  After weeks of hard work and sacrifice, Sahib and I completed our magnum opus...."The Phenomenon of Spontaneous Generation in Drosophila melanogaster".  Truly some of our finest work.

  • Finally, since no Monday Musings is really complete without a video of a swimming goat, here ya go:

Yes, crazy goat lady, he is learning to swim.  He is also plotting how to kill you in your sleep.

The Race Card Is The Real "Last Refuge of a Scoundrel"

Here is a quiz brought to you by the Obama administration.....
Which of the following issues is the real reason that Obama Attorney General Eric Holder is under fire from the right?  Choose all that apply.
  1. Holder's involvement in the Clinton Admininistration's last minute pardon of Democrat contributor and fugitive tax evader Marc Rich.
  2. Holder recommended clemency for 16 members of the terrorist organizations FALN and Machateros as Clinton's Deputy Attorney General in 1999.
  3. In 2008, Holder urged the Supreme Court to uphold the unconstitutional Washington DC handgun ban in D.C. v Heller, claiming that the Second Amendment does not protect an individual's right to keep and bear arms outside of a state run militia.
  4. Holder gave a speech on February 18th, 2009 in which he proclaimed "the United States is a nation of cowards" when it comes to racial relations.
  5. In May of 2009, Holder declined to pursue the case against members of the New Black Panther Party for voter intimidation during the 2008 election, citing "a lack of evidence".  (personal note-  please, oh please let the New Black Panther Party show up at my polling place in November of 2012)
  6. In November of 2009, Holder announced plans to bring 9/11 conspirators to New York for trial in the U.S. criminal court system.
  7. Agents of Mr. Holder's Department of Justice supplied weapons to drug traffickers, weapons that have been used in hundreds of violent crimes, including the December 2010 murder of U.S. Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry.
  8. He's sueing the state of Arizona because they dare to try and take action against the overwhelming flood of illegal immigration that the Obama Administration has failed to address.
  9. He opposes any attempts to reduce voter fraud through voter ID measures.
  10. He's black.
Let's let Attorney General Holder give us the answer, from a Sunday NY Times article by Charlie Savage...

In the interview, Mr. Holder offered a glimpse of how he viewed the criticism. He said he thought some critics — like Senator Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican who favors allowing the military to handle terrorism suspects over the criminal justice system — are expressing “good faith” arguments about their policy disagreements.
But Mr. Holder contended that many of his other critics — not only elected Republicans but also a broader universe of conservative commentators and bloggers — were instead playing “Washington gotcha” games, portraying them as frequently “conflating things, conveniently leaving some stuff out, construing things to make it seem not quite what it was” to paint him and other department figures in the worst possible light.
Of that group of critics, Mr. Holder said he believed that a few — the “more extreme segment” — were motivated by animus against Mr. Obama and that he served as a stand-in for him. “This is a way to get at the president because of the way I can be identified with him,” he said, “both due to the nature of our relationship and, you know, the fact that we’re both African-American.”  (emphasis is mine)
Is it Stedman, is it the Attorney General?
I don't think even Oprah  knows for sure!
Yep, you're right Mr. Holder.  All us crackers out here would be just fine with items 1-9 on the above list, if only you were white.  In the fine tradition of Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, and Cornel West, Attorney General Holder is carving out a place of his own in the race-baiter hall of fame.  Do us all a favor, resign your office immediately and go back to just squiring Oprah around town.
