Imam Faces Execution in Israel

An Imam faces execution in Israel for refusing to recant his faith in Islam. How is that possible you ask? I haven't heard a thing about that on the news. If it was true, every news outlet in existence would be condemning Israel. The United Nations would be convening a special session to call for sanctions. Every Muslim nation in the Middle East would be threatening war. Again, how is it possible that this isn't plastered all over every news station, website, and smart phone on the planet?

You are correct. It isn't an Imam who faces execution in Israel, it is an Iranian pastor, Youcef Nadarkhani, who faces execution in Iran for his refusal to recant his Christian faith. And what do we hear? Crickets.... As of five minutes ago, only Fox News and MSNBC had any reference to this story on the front page of their websites. The New York Times, LA Times, ABC News, CBS News, and CNN had no reference to this story that I could find on the homepage of their websites. Fox News had the story prominently at the top of their homepage (second story listed) and MSNBC has it as the 10th story on their homepage. It is a story about President Obama and the US State Department comdemning Iran. Of wait, I'm wrong again. It is a story about House Speaker John Boehner condemning Iran. From our Dear Leader and his State Department cronies, again... crickets.

A Google search on the words "Obama Iranian Pastor" results in zero articles concerning Obama calling for clemency and five articles concerning leaders urging Obama to take a stand. Devoted readers, how many of you think our president will take a courageous stand on this travesty? This time, crickets are deserved.

The thoughts and prayers of Sahib and the Crew are with Youcef Nadarkhani and his family. Unfortunately, the power and influence of the executive branch and mainstream media of the most powerful country on the earth are not.

Another example of the moral bankruptcy of the left in their dealings with the "religion of peace".

Raising a Nation of Mush-brained Wusses

Now don’t get me wrong… When my first son was born, my wife and I went a little overboard with the whole baby safety thing. We watered down the Jack Daniels in his bottle, only loaded the Smith and Wesson 357 in his crib with blanks, and made sure that he only smoked low-tar cigarettes. But as a nation, we are really taking things too far in protecting our little mush-brained darlings from themselves.

Case in point is the recently expanded recall of the Little Tykes Toy Workshop, Trucks, and Tool sets. The 2009 recall has been expanded from 1.6 million units to over 3.3 million units. When I first saw the headline I wondered, what could possibly be the problem? Were they radioactive? Did they spontaneously burst into flames? Did they shoot razor sharp spinning disks of death? No. Apparently, the 3 ¼ inch by 1 ¼ inch plastic nails present a choking hazard. Hmmmmmm….. Well, I guess if thousands of little bubble-wrapped mush-brains are dying from jamming them down their gullets maybe something should be done. I read further…. There have been two reporting incidents where both children were treated and made full recoveries. Two. Out of 3.3 million. That is a whopping .00000006 percent! WOW! As a parent, I feel my boys are so much safer.

Everyone raise their hand… Who out there didn’t learn the hard way that sticking a screwdriver in an outlet has some unpleasant side-effects? Didn’t do it again did you? (If you did, I can only assume that you voted for Bill Clinton twice but I digress.) Firecrackers in Coke bottles, homemade flamethrowers from cans of Raid, sledding while holding on to car bumpers, and bike ramps built at a 45 degree angle, from particle board, at the bottom of a steep hill. These were all invaluable teaching moments growing up. It taught us that bad decisions have consequences. Did we blame the particle board for splitting and launching us 15 feet straight up in the air? Did our parents sue the particle board manufacturer for making a defective product and not properly labeling the particle board with warnings about not using particle board for 45 degree bike ramps located at the bottom of steep hills? NO! Our moms shoved the protruding bones back into our arms and proceeded to beat us with the remaining particle board fragments all the way home.

No one wants to see their children harmed. But as parents, and by extension a nation, we do our children more harm than good by not allowing them to experience the consequences of their stupid decisions. We prefer to hermetically seal them in bubble wrap and 42 point harness them into safety seats until they are 40.

When, instead of overprotecting our children, blaming others for their mistakes, and rationalizing their poor behavior, are we as parents going to start teaching them personal responsibility? Maybe right after we start taking responsibility for our own actions. I’ll start holding my breath.

Racist Bake Sale for Racist College Admission

As reported on a Fox News Story, The People's Republic of California is at it again. The UC Berkeley Republican student group is hosting an "Increase Diversity Bake Sale" to protest the proposed law, California Senate Bill 185. This piece of lefty legislative wackiness would "allow universities to consider race, gender and ethnicity in the admissions process."

Of course, only in the bizarro world of leftist logic does this proposed bill not conflict with current California law Prop 209 that reads, "The state shall not discriminate against, or grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin in the operation of public employment, public education, or public contracting."

According to the Fox News story, "The bake sale, which will be held just yards away from a phone bank event urging people to call Brown's office in support of the S.B. 185, will charge all white men $2 for cookies and other baked goods, while Asian men will be charged $1.50, Latino men will pay $1, black men 75 cents and Native Americans 25 cents. All women will receive 25 cents off those prices."

Apparently there are at least a couple of Californians capable of reason and logic. Shawn Lewis, the president of the Berkeley College Republicans, had this to say about the bake sale on their group's website, "After the UC Berkeley student government endorsed the bill, we decided a response was needed. Thus this bake sale was formulated ... If preferences based on skin color are ok [sic] for college admissions, they should be ok [sic] for other aspects of life. We agree that the event is inherently racist, but that is the point."

My enthusiasm for the quality of UC students' reasoning processes was short-lived however when I read this doozy from Claudia Magana, the University of California Student Association President, "Having knowledge of an applicant's racial or ethnic background will allow university officials to make a "more informed" admission decision."

If by state law, they are not allowed to "grant preferential treatment to, any individual or group on the basis of race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin", I have only one question...

What reason do they have to consider race?

Obama’s Chilling Words: “We’re not finished yet.”

• Trillions of dollars added to the national debt
• National credit rating downgraded
• Unemployment the worst in decades
• Impending double-dip recession
• Healthcare “Reform” monstrosity

"I need you to decide right here and right now, talk to your friends and neighbors and co-workers and tell them, ‘You know what? We're not finished yet.'" - President Obama speaking at a Democratic fund-raiser in Seattle.

My greatest hopes and prayers are that he is wrong….

Free Speech for Teacher but not Student

Apparently, the first amendment right to free speech in public schools (at least in Fort Worth) is only accorded to teachers with an agenda, but not to students expressing their beliefs to a friend. As reported in a Fox News Article, Dakota Ary, an honor student and football player, was suspended from school for turning to a friend and saying “I’m a Christian and, to me, being homosexual is wrong.”

This blog is not about the relative merits of his argument, but the incredible assault by the left on our children in public schools. Young Dakota Ary did not just blurt this statement out in the middle of a lesson on the conjugation of German verbs. He made the statement when class discussion turned to a conversation about religion and homosexuality in Germany. According to Ary, “I guess [the teacher] heard me. He started yelling. He told me he was going to write me an infraction and send me to the office.” Now apparently it is fine for a teacher to attempt to influence his class with his political agenda, but how dare a student make a statement of his beliefs!

And this is not the first time this molder of young minds has fostered this kind of discussion… Matt Krause, an attorney with the Liberty Counsel, was quoted: “There has been a history with this teacher in the class regarding homosexual topics. The teacher had posted a picture of two men kissing on a wall that offended some of the students. He told the students this is happening all over the world and you need to accept the fact that homosexuality is just part of our culture now.”

What is a ninth grade German teacher doing fostering a sexual agenda in class regardless of its nature? And believe me; if the news accounts are accurate, he has an agenda. Sherlock Holmes is not needed to decipher that mystery. So the teacher initiates an inappropriate discussion and punishes a student for disagreeing with his world view? It sadly emphasizes how politically corrupted our public school systems have become that I am not in the least surprised.

I suspect that if young Dakota had stated that his religion says that all taxes are good and that opposing them is a sin, he would have been just fine. The gospel of the first amendment according to the left: Free speech is fine as long as you agree with us.

Do You Know the Muffin Man, the Muffin Man?

What could I do with $4200?  Pondering that for a few minutes led me to the following list:
* Buy Groceries for my family for approximately 9 months
* Purchase a 1999 Mercedes Benz E430 sedan from cars.com
* Pay for 4 semesters of community college tuition for my son
* Take my wife on a long overdue vacation of a lifetime
* and my personal favorite... Buy a Glock 19 (one of the finest handguns in the world)
AND a Mossberg 500 Cruiser 12 gauge shotgun AND 175 rounds of ammunition for
both FOR EACH member of my family.  Now that would be money well spent.

In August of 2009, the Obama/Holder Department of Justice had $4200 in taxpayer monies to spend.  They bought muffins.  250 muffins for a DOJ training conference.  I'll do the math for you, that is $16.80 per muffin.  Now friends, I have had my share of muffins.  Chocolate, blueberry, apple crisp, etc.  I have yet to consume one that I would deem worthy of $16.80 of my or anyone else's money.

I know, I know, you liberal apologists are saying, "but $4200 is a nano-drop in the bucket of federal spending.  Why are we talking about muffins when there are trillions at stake?".  I'll tell you why.  Muffin-Gate is a stark symbol of the absolute scorn and indifference all areas of the federal government have for the American Taxpayer.  Each one of those 4200 dollars spent on muffins was confiscated from an American Taxpayer against their will, under threat of imprisonment.  Now, 2 years after Muffinpalooza, BO is back for more.  Dear Leader wants to raise taxes on our most productive citizens.  Maybe we should just cut him a break, after all he could have his eye on a really nice peach cobbler.

Rainbows, Lollipops, and Dear Leader

I had a little down time this morning at the office, so I watched Dear Leader address the den of iniquity known as the U.N. General Assembly.  As the murderous thugs, corrupt despots, and tinpot dictators in the hall looked on in rapture, BO waxed teleprompterly about what a great year it's been (unless of course you are an American taxpayer).  But again, I digress.

sayeth Obama:
"So this has been a remarkable year. The Qaddafi regime is over. Gbagbo, Ben Ali, Mubarak are no longer in power. Osama bin Laden is gone, and the idea that change could only come through violence has been buried with him."

Now friends, I am ecstatic that Osama bin Laden sleeps with the fishes.  However, I must have missed the part where he passed away from being licked by kittens. Silly me, I thought Seal Team Six choppered into his compound and with the proper application of superior firepower ushered bin Laden into the arms of the 72 old crones awaiting him in the afterlife.

I must have been hallucinating when I saw the Libyan rebels riding around in trucks equipped with .50 caliber machine guns, on foot firing AK-47s, and otherwise engaging in somewhat violent activity.  Surely they were just riding down the streets in a parade, gleefully tossing figs and dates into the crowd.

Just when I was about to descend into a hellish circle of pacifist namby-pambyisms, I searched out comfort in The 35 Undeniable Truths of Life, penned by Rush Limbaugh in 1994.  I found #6 particularly comforting....."Ours is a world governed by the aggressive use of force".  Dear Leader, there are bad people out there.  Some of them can not be swayed to the side of peace and freedom with rainbows, lollipops, and apologies.

Deep Thoughts by President Obama: "Peace is Hard"

Our esteemed President dropped this pearl of wisdom on the UN General Assembly today: "Peace is hard."

Which he immediately followed with:

"Water is wet. Except when frozen."

"Chicks dig scars."

and

"Calculus is difficult."

Probably coming soon:

"Rich people suck! Unless of course, they are campaign contributors."

and/or

"Republican dingos ate my baby!"

Manure Wagon Driver Pays More in Taxes than Warren Buffet

You know what that is? Of course you do... A giant load of CRAP! I am not a tax attorney, nor do I play one on television, but when I read President Obama's following statement my initial reaction was to spit coffee all over my keyboard in laughter.

“Any reform should follow another simple principle: Middle-class families shouldn’t pay higher taxes than millionaires and billionaires. That’s pretty straightforward. It’s hard to argue against that. Warren Buffett’s secretary shouldn’t pay a higher tax rate than Warren Buffett. There is no justification for it. It is wrong that in the United States of America, a teacher or a nurse or a construction worker who earns $50,000 should pay higher tax rates than somebody pulling in $50 million.”

My next reaction was anger. Our Dear Leader knows that this is a load of manure. So why oh why make such an utterly misleading statement? Because he knows that many people will believe it. He is falling back on the left's old playbook page of class warfare.

Stunning Fact #1:
Warren Buffet pays more in taxes than his secretary. That is unless she makes more than $2 million a year, claims no deductions, and has no capital gains.

Stunning Fact #2:
Warren Buffet has already paid taxes once on the money he invests. His lower tax rate (lower than only the upper income tax brackets) is the lower rate of tax for capital gains. That is the tax he pays on the money he makes from the investment of his money on which he has ALREADY paid income tax.

Stunning Fact #3:
Investment creates jobs. Contrary to what our Dear Leader would like you to believe, private investment is the most effective means of job creation. Government spending is not.

So what is the President's end game here? Why would he want to hinder the most effective means of job creation at a time when addressing unemployment is "Job 1"? Because devoted reader, if the left can drive out the private investor, who is left? (Sorry, I mean remaining.) You guessed it! Our newest (OK maybe not so new), bestest buddy and big toe... the US Federal Government!* The end game is as always: generating more dependency on the government.

* My apologies to Ivan Reitman and Harold Ramis

Please visit the link above and read about the Oath Accountability Civil Action for Constitutional Integrity underway by the good people at the Patriot Post. As I write this, nearly 70,000 citizens have signed on, in an attempt to make our elected leaders actually comply with the document to which they have sworn an oath. There is no more important issue in America today.

A Date Too Few Will Recognize

Several dates are part of the American pysche, and well known by most.  Some like July 4 1776 are celebrated for their glorious role in our history.  Some like Dec. 7 1941 and Sept. 11 2001 are observed for more solemn reasons.

Sadly, perhaps the most important date in American history goes unobserved by most of us.  That date is tomorrow, September 17th.  On that day in 1787, delegates of the Philadelphia Convention signed the United States Constitution into being.  Although it wouldn't actually take effect until 1789, the Constitution was born on Sept. 17, 1787.  The signing culminated months of debate, discussion, and dissent from the delegates.  Out of that cacophony of voices and opinions came the greatest document ever produced in human history.  The long, grueling process undertaken by the Philadelphia Convention is beautifully chronicled in David Stewart's book The Summer of 1787.  Every American should read it.

We all consider Independence Day as our national birthday, and rightly so.  The Declaration of Independence was our notice to the world that we would fight for our rights as Americans, and throw off the yoke of British monarchy.  It wasn't until more than 11 years later however, that we gave notice the United States was here to stay. Never before in human history has a single document been the source of as much liberty, freedom, opportunity, and hope as the Constitution of the United States.

I get a twinge of sadness every year when Constitution Day rolls around.  Just thinking about how grotesquely the federal government violates the Constitution every single day gives me great pause.  Is that how we want to treat that most precious legacy of our Founders?  Carefully constructed by them to constrain and limit national government, the Constitution has been under secular progressive assault for over a century.  Liberal statists like Barack Obama see the Constitution as an impediment to their "transforming America".  True patriots know that the Constitution is the only thing that stands between us and overwhelming tyranny.

It is time ordinary Americans stand up and take action to "preserve, protect, and defend" the Constitution of the United States.  Apparently those words are meaningless to Barack Obama.  The first step to take is obtain your own copy of the Constitution.  I recommend Essential Liberty, a tiny pocket sized guide to the Constitution and the other founding documents of the United States.  It is available at http://www.patriotpostshop.com/.  Buy several, distribute them to your friends, and READ IT.  Keep it in your purse, briefcase, glovebox, wherever.  Refer to it when you hear discussion of constitutional issues.  Don't let the secular progressives tell you what the Founders "really" meant.  Read the words written over 220 years ago that continue to give us our liberty today.

Supreme Court Plays the Race Card

On July 30, 1995, Duane Buck broke into the Houston home of his former girlfriend Debra Gardner.  He argued with her, he beat her, retrieved his belongings and left the premises.  Later that day, Buck returned to the home armed with a shotgun.  A man at the home, Kenneth Butler, was shot to death by Buck in a hallway.  Buck then pursued Gardner outside, and brutally shot her to death in full view of her children.  Arrested at the scene, Buck told authorities that "the bitch deserved what she got".  Unfortunately the same can not be said for this vicious murderer.

Convicted in 1997 for his crimes, Duane Buck was sentenced to death and has been on Texas's death row at taxpayer expense for the last 14 years.  At long last, Buck was scheduled to die for his crimes yesterday in a Huntsville, TX prison.  Instead, he sits there still today, after the Supreme Court of the United States agreed to act on Buck's appeal of his sentence and stayed the execution.  Buck and his lawyer, Karen Black, contend that Buck's sentencing hearing was unfair and racially prejudicial after a psychologist testified that black men are more likely to commit additional violent crimes after release than other offenders.  Black said after the stay was granted, "We're just relieved that the court recognized the injustice here and that no one should be put to death based on the color of their skin".

Now good readers, the Crew is a simple man.  It appears to me that Mr. Buck was sentenced to death because he fired multiple shotgun blasts into 2 innocent people in full view of several children, and then showed absolutely no remorse at his actions.  The other crime here is that Buck wasn't executed in a more timely manner, say like the day after his sentence was pronounced.  There was no question or doubt about Buck's guilt, the murders had multiple witnesses.  Buck should have been executed immediately.  Publicly.  By hanging.  Or firing squad.  Maybe that would give the death penalty some more deterrent effect.

Predictably, the murderer praised God after receiving the news of his stay of execution.   "Praise the Lord, God is worthy to be praised. God's mercy triumphs over judgment, I feel good" he told prison officials.  Isn't that special.  Mr. Buck, God is indeed worthy of praise, you are worthy of something a little different.  You said Debra Gardner "got what she deserved".  Here's hoping SCOTUS gets out of the way, and you get what you deserve.

Death Knell for Obama's 2012 Campaign Sounds in New York

The 9th Congressional District of New York has been a Democratic stronghold for over 80 years, represented in the past by such liberal luminaries as Sen. Charles Schumer and Geraldine Ferraro.  Since 1999, the seat has been held by Anthony Weiner, who resigned in disgrace in June after a "sexting" scandal.  By the way, how did it take a congressman named Weiner 12 years to start sending crotch shots all around the internet?  But I digress.

Yesterday, Republican Bob Turner defeated Democrat David Weprin in the special election to replace Weiner (did I really just write that?) in the 9th.  Turner's victory is the latest and loudest shot across the bow of the Obama re-election campaign.  If the Democrat machine in New York can't get a liberal Jew elected in a district where Dems outnumber Republicans 3 to 1, then Obama 2012 is in a very precarious position.

Personally, I am thrilled that Jewish voters have finally realized that the Democratic Party has betrayed them at every turn.  Although Weprin and Turner have very similar views on Israel, the vote is a repudiation of Barack Obama's insistence that Israel return to pre-1967 borders.  Add in Weprin's support for gay marriage, and you have a monumental win for the GOP.  Are you listening Barry?

The Unseen Cost of Freedom

We have seen the soldiers who have been wounded or given their lives in defense of freedom in conflicts around the world, but at the airport this weekend I was reminded of some of the unseen costs of freedom. I saw a little girl crying in her mother's arms as her mother (an army major) was preparing to deploy. We need to remember the sacrifice family members are making when their fathers, sons, mothers, and daughters put themselves in harms way in the defense of freedom. If you know a family that has someone deployed, check in on them from time to time. Invite them to dinner. Offer to watch the children so the parent can have a break. Do what you can to support them until the family member returns home. Help lighten them of the unseen costs of freedom.

Interesting article on the Reg about the King of Green's climate apocalypse group wanting to co-opt your Facebook and Twitter accounts. Department of Banned Words that Sound like other Words

EDICT----EDICT----EDICT----EDICT

Press release - MOTDOBWTSLOW- 7 September, 2011

The Ministry of Truth Department of Banned Words that Sound like other Words has issued the banning of a following word:

Natty
It has come to the attention of the Ministry of Truth Department of Banned Words that Sound like other Words that the conservative blogger "Sahib" has used the word "natty" in referring to the haberdashery of Muslim leaders, liberal politicians, and the state-run media. Specifically, the head coverings of said people. We at the MOTDOBWTSLOW all realize this is a thinly veiled racial slur aimed President Barak Obama. After the Imusizing of the word "nappy", the word "natty" has teetered on the precipice of violating the rules of decency and cultural diversity. The use of the word "natty" by such an obvious hate-monger as "Sahib" pushes the word over the edge and into the abyss. From this day forward, the use of the former word "natty" is permanently prohibited. Violation of this ban is punishable by forcible apology, immediate termination of employment (public or private), and reparations paid to any and all citizens harmed by the use of this egregious word. As it is written, so mote it be.

Reminder: We have always been at war with Eastasia.

Has Anyone Seen Al Gore Today?

The Sounds of Silence

What do Muslim leaders around the world, "progressive" politicians, and the state-run media all have in common? (Hint: The answer is NOT natty head-wear.)

The answer is the stunning sound of silence that emanates from them when their more radical followers threaten violence against innocent people. The learned Crew has pointed this out in his last two blogs. If you are not a "protected" class, you are fair game. Anymore, that means you are Jewish or conservative. (Rarely both, but that's a topic for another time.)

My question is where is the outrage from the right? Why do we not stand up for ourselves? The Israelis do a pretty bang-up job of it. Maybe we should take a page out of their playbook. Of course as heartwarming as the thought of strafing runs on the DNC and MSNBC headquarters is, it is wrong to advocate violence. SEE! I said it. Violence against innocents BAD. Debating issues using words GOOD.

Seems to me a pretty simple concept. Of course if the left gets wind of this blog, all you will hear is: "Sahib advocates bombing liberals!" Silly left-wingers, everyone knows bombing and strafing are not the same thing... ;)

Once again to slightly alter Dennis Miller's tagline:
That's just my opinion. I could be wrong... but I'm not.

Rep. Carson: I will not apologize to tea party The Indianapolis Star indystar.com

This is a nice follow-up from the Indianapolis Star on Representative Andre Carson's Tea Party comments. Kudos to Representative Allen West (R-Fl), for writing the Congressional Black Caucus Chairman, Rep. Emanuel Cleaver (R-M0), in protest of Carson's comments. Now, I know a little bit about Congressman Cleaver, as he is the Crew's congressman and former mayor of Kansas City. Still waiting for him and BO to denounce the inflammatory comments by Carson. You can contact Congressman Cleaver at www.house.gov/cleaver.  Somewhere, Rodney "can't we all just get along" King is weeping.
