A Day Of Disgrace For The United Nations

They came for the filmmaker in the dead of night.  Heavily armed law enforcement agents removed him from his home, and transported him to central command for questioning.  He had produced a movie that ran contrary to the head of state's beliefs.  In fact, the leader of the country had called the man a "shadowy character", and characterized his movie as "crude and disgusting".  As much as this might sound like 1930's Germany, it happened 10 days ago in Cerritos, CA.

Of course the governmental line is that the filmmaker was being questioned about a possible parole violation connected to his uploading of his film to Youtube.  Seems like a likely reason for multiple agents of the LA Sheriff's department to descend on the man's house after midnight.

I know, I know, this is old news right?  Maybe so, but today it is flavored with the bitter taste of fascism.  Yesterday, the leader of the country addressed the United Nations General Assembly.  He apparently didn't think the filmmaker was old news, as he felt the need to prostrate himself and his country before that den of thieves again and again.  He peppered his speech with flowery references to freedom of speech and religion, saying "the strongest weapon against hateful speech is not repression, it is more speech- the voices of tolerance that rally against bigotry and blasphemy, and lift up the values of understanding and mutual respect".

Then came today.  For those who don't know, today is Yom Kippur, the holiest day of the year for Jewish people across the globe.  Today, behind the same podium at the UN, on Yom Kippur, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad will address the General Assembly.  The very same Ahmadinejad that has promised to "annihilate" the Jewish people, and "obliterate" Israel from the globe.

That the United States allowed this man to enter our country is reprehensible.  That the UN allowed this man to speak on the holiest of days for Jews everywhere is blasphemy of the highest order.  That President Barack Obama agreed to speak from the same podium as this man is unforgivable.  That the majority of Jews in the United States will likely vote again for Barack Obama in less than 6 weeks is sad and unfathomable.

If Barack Obama had any sense of decency, any sort of understanding of right and wrong, he would have sent this message to the United Nations on Monday.....

Dear Secretary General Ki-moon,

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is a terrorist, a megalomaniacal despot who has vowed to annihilate the followers of Judaism and to obliterate another member nation from the map.  Incredibly, the UN has decided to give this criminal a platform from which to spread his hatred and vitriol.  To add grievous insult to blatant injury, you are allowing him to speak on Yom Kippur, the holiest of holy days for the Jewish people.  As President of the United States, I refuse to speak from the same platform as such a man, nor will I allow any representative of the United States to do so.

Sincerely,
Barack Hussein Obama

As we all know, no such message was forthcoming from Dear Leader.

Monday Musings With The Crew

  • Tom Priem and his wife were fed up.  The Austin, TX couple proudly displayed their Obama 2012 yard sign, while their neighbors yards were dotted with GOP signs.  The Priem's sign was repeatedly damaged, to the point that Tom called in a police report.  Finally, his wife was able to capture the conservative conspirator that had been savaging their sign.......

Obama has apparently lost the "gentle woodland creature" vote.

  • Frantic residents of a Turkish province along the Black Sea notified authorities when they spotted a woman's body floating offshore.  Police blocked off the beach, and sent highly trained rescue divers into the waters off Samsun province to rescue what turned out to be.......an inflatable sex doll.  At presstime there had been no explanation of why Bill Clinton was in Turkey.

  • If you are a 14 year old girl in New York City, there are certain things you can and cannot do.  For example, you cannot purchase a 20oz soda after the approval last week of Big Gulp Bloomberg's ban on sweetened drinks larger than 16 oz.  You can however, get the "morning after" pill from your school nurse without your parent's knowledge.  Glad to know that the nation's largest city has its priorities straight.

  • Finally, Democratic National Committee chair"person" Debbie Wasserman-Schulz has announced she will be leaving Congress to follow her lifelong dream of becoming a jazz singer.  Video of Wasserman-Schulz's recent rehearsal has surfaced........

What We Need Is Common Sense Redistribution

There's been a lot of kerfluffle this week about the surfacing of various video/audio clips featuring Mittens and Dear Leader.  Barry is starring in a 1998 clip where he states his support for the concept of income redistribution.  Google "obama income redistribution".....go ahead, I'll wait..

What you found was a bunch of hysterical talking heads on the right babbling endlessly about this "breaking news".  Along the same lines, here is tomorrow's breaking news...

  • The sky is blue
  • It gets dark at night
  • Kittens are cute
Look, if you needed to hear that piece of 14 year old audio to believe that Dear Leader favors income redistribution, then you haven't been paying attention.  The man is a committed socialist, hell-bent on destroying the free market and individual liberties characteristic of this country.  Lean in closely to your screen.....

HE SAID HE WANTED TO FUNDAMENTALLY TRANSFORM AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you believe in something, if you love it with your heart and your soul, you don't want or need to fundamentally transform it!  How much clearer can the man make it?????   Wake up people!

IRS to Pastors: You Can't Preach That!

I know it will come as a shock to our devoted SACSTW readers, but once in a while there is an important issue to this country of which I am totally ignorant.  It doesn't happen often, but this was one that had slipped by my notice.  Having attended quite a variety of churches over my 47 years, I had noticed that in most cases, pastors rarely get very political from the pulpit.  I erroneously thought that this was by convention and that in general pastors were just concerning themselves with spiritual as opposed to earthly matters.

Nope.  That's not it.  There is a provision of the 1954 tax code that federally prohibits pastors from making political endorsements.  The provision reads:
Tax-exempt organizations are “absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.”
Hmmmm...  To me that sounds like a violation of a couple of sections of the first amendment.  Just the minor ones about free speech and freedom of religion.  Where are all the separation of church and state apologists on this one?  Isn't this one of the holy tenets of the left?  Oh, that's right.  We can't have any mention of Christianity in the government, but there's no problem with the government telling churches what they can and can't do or even more disturbingly what they can and can't say.

However; not every church is toeing the line.  According to a Fox News story:
"More than 1,000 pastors are planning to challenge the IRS next month by deliberately preaching politics ahead of the presidential election."
This is not the first time churches have challenged the IRS on this.  From a PBN story earlier this year, Bishop Daniel Jenky of the Roman Catholic Diocese in Peoria, Illinois had this to say in one of his homilies:
“Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services, and health care,” he said.
“In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obama – with his radical, pro-abortion and extreme secularist agenda, now seems intent on following a similar path,” the homily says.
"Now things have come to such a pass in America that this is a battle that we could lose, but before the awesome judgment seat of Almighty God this is not a war where any believing Catholic may remain neutral.”
“This fall, every practicing Catholic must vote, and must vote their Catholic consciences, or by the following fall our Catholic schools, our Catholic hospitals, our Catholic Newman centers, all of our public ministries – only excepting our church buildings – could easily be shut down.
“Because no Catholic institution, under any circumstance, can ever cooperate with the intrinsic evil of killing innocent human life in the womb.”
I'd like to buy that guy a beer.

Like the pastors and priests who will be defying the federal government on October 7, I REALLY hope the IRS takes action against them.  I would love to see this in front of the Supreme Court.  Of course, that is only if Chief Justice John Roberts has been taking his meds.

Have a happy Thursday everyone!

Clinton had "Is", Obama has "Spontaneous"

Dude!  You can make words mean anything you want!
The master and the pupil.  Clinton and Obama.  Slick Willy had "it depends on what the meaning of 'is' is."  Following in the Teflon Don's footsteps, Obama is learning to change the definitions of words to suit his purposes and get his presidential derriere out of the proverbial fire.  Obama's word du jour is "spontaneous".

After the assassination of Ambassador Chris Stevens in Libya last week, the Obama administration claimed that it was a "spontaneous" attack growing from a demonstration that spiraled out of control and  fueled by anger about a movie that showed Islam in negative light.  Au contraire says the Libyan government and US intelligence sources in Libya.

According to Fox News:
"The assault on the consulate came without warning, and, to strengthen the view that it was pre-meditated, the assault included RPGs and mortars -- including at least one round that hit the consulate roof.
There were two waves to the assault, Fox News was told. According to the intelligence source, in the first wave, the attackers were heard to say "we got him" -- a reference to Ambassador Chris Stevens, who was killed in the attack. Word spread, the attackers regrouped and the second wave went after the motorcade and support personnel.
The account relayed by the intelligence source on the ground in Libya is consistent with statements by the Libyan president that the attack was pre-mediated and the work of foreign fighters, which is code for Islamist extremists, including the Al Qaeda affiliate in North Africa. It is also consistent with an interview by McClatchy Newspapers with a purported Libyan security guard who was injured in the assault. The guard said the consulate area was quiet and "there wasn't a single ant outside" until dozens of armed men descended on the compound."
Well, that definitely sounds spontaneous to me. I'm sure it went something like this:
  • "Death to America!  Hey Charlie, do you have a spare mortar on you?  I left mine at home."
  • "Down with Obama!  No Fred, I didn't bring mine either but I have this nifty RPG.  Maybe Earl has one.  Hey Earl, did you bring your mortar to the demonstation?"
  •  "Death to Israel!  Why yes Charlie, I did happen to bring my mortar.  Would you like to borrow it?"
UN Ambassador Susan Rice had this to say:
"The best information and the best assessment we have today is that in fact this was not a preplanned, premeditated attack, that what happened initially was that it was a spontaneous reaction to what had just transpired in Cairo as a consequence of the video. People gathered outside the embassy and then it grew very violent and those with extremist ties joined the fray and came with heavy weapons, which unfortunately are quite common in post-revolutionary Libya and that then spun out of control. But we don't see at this point signs this was a coordinated plan, premeditated attack."
Hang on, didn't the Libyan security guard say "there wasn't a single ant outside" until dozens of armed men attacked the compound?  But wait!  There was a demonstration outside the consulate compound that day.
"However, the official emphasized there had been a small demonstration, of about two dozen people, at the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi earlier in the day."
Wow!  About two dozen people hours earlier in the day.  I can see how that seething mob could mutate into a maelstrom of violence backed by heavy weaponry.

Hey!  It was spontaneous...

Monday Musings With The Crew- Constitution Day Edition

There's really only one thing I'm thinking about today, and that is the United States Constitution.  A few pages of elegantly simple prose that have wrapped the American people in liberty and freedom for 225 years, and been a beacon of hope for the less fortunate around the globe.  I'd thought I'd rerun my Constitution Day post from last year today.....

A Date Too Few Will Recognize

Several dates are part of the American pysche, and well known by most.  Some like July 4 1776 are celebrated for their glorious role in our history.  Some like Dec. 7 1941 and Sept. 11 2001 are observed for more solemn reasons.

Sadly, perhaps the most important date in American history goes unobserved by most of us.  That date is today, September 17th.  On that day in 1787, delegates of the Philadelphia Convention signed the United States Constitution into being.  Although it wouldn't actually take effect until 1789, the Constitution was born on Sept. 17, 1787.  The signing culminated months of debate, discussion, and dissent from the delegates.  Out of that cacophony of voices and opinions came the greatest document ever produced in human history.  The long, grueling process undertaken by the Philadelphia Convention is beautifully chronicled in David Stewart's book The Summer of 1787.  Every American should read it.

We all consider Independence Day as our national birthday, and rightly so.  The Declaration of Independence was our notice to the world that we would fight for our rights as Americans, and throw off the yoke of British monarchy.  It wasn't until more than 11 years later however, that we gave notice the United States was here to stay. Never before in human history has a single document been the source of as much liberty, freedom, opportunity, and hope as the Constitution of the United States.

I get a twinge of sadness every year when Constitution Day rolls around.  Just thinking about how grotesquely the federal government violates the Constitution every single day gives me great pause.  Is that how we want to treat that most precious legacy of our Founders?  Carefully constructed by them to constrain and limit national government, the Constitution has been under secular progressive assault for over a century.  Liberal statists like Barack Obama see the Constitution as an impediment to their "transforming America".  True patriots know that the Constitution is the only thing that stands between us and overwhelming tyranny.

It is time ordinary Americans stand up and take action to "preserve, protect, and defend" the Constitution of the United States.  Apparently those words are meaningless to Barack Obama.  The first step to take is obtain your own copy of the Constitution.  I recommend Essential Liberty, a tiny pocket sized guide to the Constitution and the other founding documents of the United States.  It is available at http://www.patriotpostshop.com/.  Buy several, distribute them to your friends, and READ IT.  Keep it in your purse, briefcase, glovebox, wherever.  Refer to it when you hear discussion of constitutional issues.  Don't let the secular progressives tell you what the Founders "really" meant.  Read their words for yourself.

Editor's note-  Sahib and I have had an interesting Constitutional debate with reader Doug in the comments section of this post...

Ryan's Debate Practice Partner

As I was browsing the news stories on the NBC News website this morning, I saw this story title:  Ryan's Debate Practice Partner Chosen  I was totally surprised to hear that they had chosen former US solicitor general Ted Olsen.  This is who I would have thought would have been more appropriate:

He even looks like Biden

Biden: Welcher as well as Plagiarist

I have this many Tootsie Rolls in my pocket!
There was a Fox News Story a couple of days ago about Smokin Joe Biden saying "male bovine excrement" at a recent campaign stop in Pennsylvania.  Having been an ardent Biden admirer for years, I thought "Why is this even a news story?  For Joe, this is a moment of incredible lucidity."  As I read further, I realized the author of the story missed a much more important point:  The vice president is not only a thinker of deep thoughts, orator of remarkable renown, and plagiarist, he is a welcher too!  Actually, the entire story is a perfect picture of the liberal politician thought processes.  I'll hit the highlights for you:

  • Joe drops in unannounced at a Shanksville (no, not a reference to Obama's golf game) Volunteer Fire Department's grill out session.  ~moocher
  • Joe was approached by Deputy Chief Brad Shober who showed him a challenge coin Joe had given him a year ago.  The coin Joe gave him came with the agreement that the next time they saw each other, whoever didn't have his coin had to by the beer.  ~empty promises
  • Of course, Joe didn't have his coin and guess what?  He didn't buy the beer! ~broken promises as well as being a welcher
  • Being caught without coin and refusing to honor his previous promise, he promises FUTURE beer if the guy and his buddies decide to drop by DC. ~Follows up broken empty promises, with more empty promises
Ahhhhhhh, liberal politicians... the group of people who made "I'll gladly pay you Tuesday for a hamburger today" a campaign slogan.  As is customary whenever I read about the latest antics of the vice president of the most powerful nation the world has ever known, I wonder, "How did Obama and the DNC ever choose this guy to be Obama's VP?"  I think I know their reasoning.  I'll sum it up in a slogan:

"Joe Biden:  Better than Kevlar!  Able to stop an assassin's bullet before it leaves the barrel of the gun!"

9/11 Cross: Dear Atheists, Quit Whining!

You know, growing up, I had a much different mental picture of atheists.  Being a child of the Cold War, my first awareness of atheists were the godless-commies who wanted to bomb us into oblivion.  Later, I discovered American atheists.  These were hard-core inflexible people who were so confident of their own knowledge and intellectual superiority that Pope John Paul II, Mother Teresa, and Billy Graham together couldn't soften their heart towards God.

My how things have changed.  It is nothing new for atheists to file lawsuits to get any remotely religious symbol or artifact removed from any public place other than a church, synagogue, or mosque. But when did they become such mentally and emotionally unstable sissies?  I have always found it narcissistic in the extreme that atheists can be so sure of their depth and breadth of knowledge that they can claim categorically that God does not exist, but at least I could respect the strength of their convictions.  Now, not so much.

Case in point:  The lawsuit they have filed to have the 9/11 cross removed from the the National September 11 Museum and Memorial. Again, this isn't surprising for them.  I would have been more surprised if they hadn't sued to have it removed.  Of course, they trot out the old and tired "separation of church and state" argument which we previously debunked in the blog post "Atheists Want to Starve Children!".  I think they realize that their chance for success arguing the establishment clause is unlikely at best because they have added a new strategy.  It is the "We are giant wusses!" strategy.  Light years from the steely-eyed Russian soldiers or the maniacal crazed atheists of the '70s and '80s, today we have the kinder, gentler, metrosexual, sensitive atheists. In addition to their constitutional challenge, the American Atheists say the cross should removed because it hurts their feelings. According to the Washington Compost the lawsuit asserts:
"The presence of the cross would result in injury — emotional and even physical in the case of extreme anxiety — to atheists left feeling excluded from what should be a place of unity and healing."
Yes devoted readers, you heard it here first.  The very sight of the cross causes physical injury to atheists.  I can hear them now... "It burns!  It burns!"  Wait... wrong group.  That's Obama and the Democrats.  Probably more like, "I am so depressed that I don't even have the energy to get in my Prius and drive to Starbucks for a pumpkin latte. I think I'll just lay around my eco-friendly condo in my North Face jammies, have a tofu burger, and listen to Alesana CDs. I may even have to call my doctor to up my meds."

Oh, the humanity...

Please remember to pray today for the family members of those who perished on 9/11 and for our country.  Never Forget!

Never Forget

Monday Musings With The Crew

After taking a Labor Day break last week, MM is back!  This week I am heeding the old saw that a picture is worth a thousand words.  So.....on with the countdown!
  • Let's start with what is hands-down my favorite image of 2012 to date....

Evidently the Vice-Creeper was at an Ohio diner over the weekend when he decided to join some bikers at their table.  While Harley gal seems to be having fun, Biker 1 and Biker 2 appear less than amused.  Note to Joe-  The new season of Sons of Anarchy starts tomorrow night on FX.  You might want to watch a few episodes before you decide to spoon with some biker's old lady.  By the way, has anyone seen Joe today?

  • Back in the days of yore, a young Sahib and Crew used to saddle up Sahib's trusty scooter Flame, and cruise the highways and byways (well, at least the residential streets) of our youth.  Many times we made the famed Belinder Run, with Flame threatening to shake herself to pieces beneath us.  At no time during any of these joyrides did either Sahib and I fall asleep.  The same can not be said for the Russian woman in this video.....

Notice how the trusty scooter attempts to continue the mission without the pilot... Flame would be proud.

  • Not to be outdone, some boaters just down the lake from the Ozark headquarters of SACSTW took to the beautiful waters of the Lake of the Ozarks.  In my almost 48 years, I have spent thousands of hours on the Lake of the Ozarks.  I have never done this........

  • Remember the 1996 movie "Fly Away Home"?  Don't worry, nobody else does either.  In that heartwarming tale, Jeff Daniels and Anna Paquin starred as a father and daughter who fly an ultralight plane to teach a flock of orphaned geese how to migrate.  Now comes word from SACSTW's Moscow bureau that President Vladimir Putin is starring in the sequel, "Fly Away to the Lubyanka".  That wacky Vlad spent last week flying a motorized hang glider around Siberia, trying to teach some young cranes how to fly......

Unfortunately, he is also teaching the young birds how to prop up tinpot dictators around the globe.

Don't forget to like us on Facebook, and share your favorite SACSTW posts with your Facebook friends!

It's Official: Democrats Hate God

After years of conservatives warning Americans that Democrats and the left hate God, the Democrat National Convention in Charlotte has given us our most compelling evidence to date.  After hoping no one would notice the removal of the single reference to God from the DNC 2008 platform, DNC leaders, true to form, spinelessly put it back. Again showing no principle is worth the loss of votes for the left.  That they removed it and then put it back in the face of withering criticism is not the telling part.  It is the reaction of the DNC delegates that demonstrates that a great number of Democrats really hate God.  From a Fox News story on the vote to put God (and Jerusalem) back in the platform:
"A large and loud group of delegates shouted "no" as convention chairman, Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, called for the vote late Wednesday afternoon. Villaraigosa had to call for the vote three times before ruling that the "ayes" had it. Many in the crowd booed after he determined the language would be restored."
They had to call for the vote THREE times.  And from Michigan delegate Rashida Tlaib:
“The majority of the delegation here at the Democratic National Convention supported the previous language (the one with God removed) and instead after three attempts to vote and it failed twice, and for whatever reason it still failed but was still pushed through.”
I loved what Mitt Romney had to say about it:
"(That) this party purposely removed God from their platform suggests a party that is increasingly out of touch with the mainstream of the American people," Romney said. "I see it as being as out of touch and detached."
It's not that I believe that ALL Democrats hate God, it's just the ones who don't think his name is Barack Obama.

**Editor's note:  Man, am I going to hear it from my sister on this one. She's the liberal black sheep of the family

Pass me that Plastic Carrot!

THIS food is inorganic!
Friends, family, and devoted SACSTW readers know that there are a few (just a few) things that get under my skin.  One of those things is "Organic" food. Let's look at the definition of organic shall we?
"noting or pertaining to a class of chemical compounds that comprised those existing in or derived fromplants or animals"
Never in my life have I ever said, "Man, I have a hankering for some inorganic food.  Somebody pass me a plastic carrot!"   Settle down hippies, I can hear you now:  "Sahib, you are being intentionally obtuse!  You know that we mean "naturally" grown and raised food as opposed to conventionally produced food."  Maybe my high school "30 Days to Build a Better Vocabulary" tests are too far behind me, but I could have sworn that the opposite of organic was inorganic.  Not conventional.

This has annoyed me for years so you can imagine my delight and surprise (surprised it got media coverage, not that it's true) when I saw this article from the Old Gray Hag, sorry, the New York Times:  "Stanford Scientists Cast Doubt on Advantages of Organic Meat and Produce"

The upshot is that there is no tangible evidence that "organic" food is more nutritious and healthy for you than "inorganic", sorry "conventional" food.  The "organic" food business is just another green scam to part Birkenstock wearing, PETA loving, Greenpeace supporting, Prius driving, Obama voters from their money.

Again hippies!  Settle down.  I know there are what you would consider other benefits to "organic" food.  Lower levels of pesticides in produce and antibiotic-resistant strains of bacteria in meat do occur in "organic" foods. However; unless you are planning on eating a truck load of carrots and eating only raw meat from   "inorganic""conventional" producers, you should be fine.  But be warned, levels of E. coli bacteria are no lower in "organic" foods.

And of course, most conventional producers are big evil corporations which we know are out to starve children and leave the planet a desolate wasteland. Psssst, hippies.... The "organic' food business is a $13 billion industry.  They don't give the food away for free or donate their profits to the Humane Society or WWF.  Just thought you would like to know.

You know, I skipped breakfast and it's almost lunchtime.  I am starving!  I could really go for a plastic burger and some Styrofoam fries.  Yum!
