The Campaign Speech I Would Love to Hear...

Sahib gets a new job!

OK, maybe I don't have a new job but I would like to offer my humble talents to any conservative candidate who wants a straight from the hip, no nonsense, campaign speech writer.

So as the corner undocumented pharmacist always says to prospective clients with a pharmacological preference (practicing up on my PC lingo, don't want to be accused of micro-aggressions), the first taste is free.  Here is a campaign speech I would love to hear:

My fellow Americans.  I stand here today humbled at the opportunity to possibly follow in the footsteps of such great American heroes as Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Reagan.  A prospect I take with the utmost gravity. As such, my first speech as a candidate will be filled with promises.  (Wait for audience skeptical response)  I know, I know.  A politician making promises.  I can already hear the jokes.  But wait there is more!  It will be filled with honesty as well.  Brutal honesty.  And yes, my lips will be moving throughout this speech.  So buckle in.  Here goes.
I promise that I will never apologize for offending anyone.  If I meant to offend you, then I am not sorry.  I meant to offend you.  If I didn't intend on offending you, then I am not sorry.  I did not intend on offending you.  If you were offended anyway, that is your problem, not mine. (I am working on a more detailed treatise on the perpetually offended. Look for it soon.)
If elected, I promise that I will occasionally lie to you.  For instance; when Iran inevitably reneges on the current nuclear deal, I am sure I will be asked about a possible military response.  I will lie.  "Of course we have no plans to coordinate with Israel concerning the complete obliteration of all Iranian nuclear facilities. How silly of you to ask!  And it definitely will not be happening next Tuesday!"
Unlike some of my predecessors, however; I promise I will never lie to forward my political agenda or to push through legislation that forwards said agenda.  There will be no more of the legislative "Don't ask, don't tell" you have to pass the bill before you can read it.
I promise to take the Alexandrian approach to the regulatory knot that my predecessor has created. Federal departments and agencies will be on notice as of day one of my presidency that regulations are going to be slashed. The EPA, HHS, IRS, and ICE in particular will be under the microscope.
All judicial appointees, particularly those to the Supreme Court, will be vetted not on their political views but to their adherence to the Constitution of the United State of America.
The tolerance of illegal immigration ends today.  We are a nation of laws.  Unlike previous administrations, my presidency will make following those laws a priority.  All laws regarding immigration will be enforced.
I realize that everyone may not agree with my political stances.  That is the beauty of our political system.  You don't have to.  If you don't like what I have to say, guess what?  Don't vote for me.
I really hope you all have enjoyed your first peek into what my presidency will be like. There will much more to come in the weeks and months ahead.  God bless you all and God bless the United States of America!
I will be waiting for the phone to ring...

IRS to Pastors: You Can't Preach That!

I know it will come as a shock to our devoted SACSTW readers, but once in a while there is an important issue to this country of which I am totally ignorant.  It doesn't happen often, but this was one that had slipped by my notice.  Having attended quite a variety of churches over my 47 years, I had noticed that in most cases, pastors rarely get very political from the pulpit.  I erroneously thought that this was by convention and that in general pastors were just concerning themselves with spiritual as opposed to earthly matters.

Nope.  That's not it.  There is a provision of the 1954 tax code that federally prohibits pastors from making political endorsements.  The provision reads:
Tax-exempt organizations are “absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office.”
Hmmmm...  To me that sounds like a violation of a couple of sections of the first amendment.  Just the minor ones about free speech and freedom of religion.  Where are all the separation of church and state apologists on this one?  Isn't this one of the holy tenets of the left?  Oh, that's right.  We can't have any mention of Christianity in the government, but there's no problem with the government telling churches what they can and can't do or even more disturbingly what they can and can't say.

However; not every church is toeing the line.  According to a Fox News story:
"More than 1,000 pastors are planning to challenge the IRS next month by deliberately preaching politics ahead of the presidential election."
This is not the first time churches have challenged the IRS on this.  From a PBN story earlier this year, Bishop Daniel Jenky of the Roman Catholic Diocese in Peoria, Illinois had this to say in one of his homilies:
“Hitler and Stalin, at their better moments, would just barely tolerate some churches remaining open, but would not tolerate any competition with the state in education, social services, and health care,” he said.
“In clear violation of our First Amendment rights, Barack Obama – with his radical, pro-abortion and extreme secularist agenda, now seems intent on following a similar path,” the homily says.
"Now things have come to such a pass in America that this is a battle that we could lose, but before the awesome judgment seat of Almighty God this is not a war where any believing Catholic may remain neutral.”
“This fall, every practicing Catholic must vote, and must vote their Catholic consciences, or by the following fall our Catholic schools, our Catholic hospitals, our Catholic Newman centers, all of our public ministries – only excepting our church buildings – could easily be shut down.
“Because no Catholic institution, under any circumstance, can ever cooperate with the intrinsic evil of killing innocent human life in the womb.”
I'd like to buy that guy a beer.

Like the pastors and priests who will be defying the federal government on October 7, I REALLY hope the IRS takes action against them.  I would love to see this in front of the Supreme Court.  Of course, that is only if Chief Justice John Roberts has been taking his meds.

Have a happy Thursday everyone!

Monday Musings With The Crew

I was just going through some old photos in the SACSTW Historical Archives, and found this one that I sentimentally call "The Great and Yakking Sahib".  Now, on with the countdown!

  • A ruling on round 3 of Obama vs. The U.S. Constitution appears to be forthcoming this week from SCOTUS, possibly even today.  This is the last scheduled week of the Court's term, and a ruling is also expected on Arizona's controversial immigration legislation. Nothing more important than the Obamacare decision will happen in the country this week.  It is literally a fork in the road for the nation.  If Obamacare is upheld, then Dear Leader and his statist cronies have the green light to continue "fundamentally transforming" America.  SACSTW will continue to stay on top of this story as it develops during the week.
  • Here is a story that tells you all you really need to know about Barack Hussein Obama.  We all know that he "loves" Hispanics, particularly the 60-70% of them that are solid Democrat voters.  He has railed about the inherent racism of securing our borders, blasted the GOP for being anti-Latino, and even sued the state of Arizona to curry favor amongst Hispanics.  Obama feels a close bond with his brown-skinned brethren, and holds them close to his heart......unless they have silverware.  Last Friday, Dear Leader made an appearance at a luncheon of the National Association of Latino Elected and Appointed Officials in Lake Buena Vista, FL.  An announcement was made towards the end of the meal that all silverware would have to be turned in to Secret Service personnel before Obama entered the room.  So all you lib Latinos out there, Barry loves ya, but he still thinks one of you might try and shank him with a dessert fork in the rope line.  Next time you see him, why don't you ask him if he made George Clooney and Sarah Jessica Parker turn in their forks too.  Read the full story here at politico.com.
  • In what I can only assume is a completely fabricated crime update, the Chicago Tribune is reporting that 2 people were killed (including a 13 year old boy) and 13 wounded in 12 separate shootings within the city Saturday night.  I say fabricated because as we all know, there are no more guns on the streets of Chicago after the Police Department conducted their annual Murder Weapon Turn In and Evidence Disposal Gala on Saturday afternoon.  If the Trib is correct in its reportage, then we are left with the conclusion that liberal feel-good shams like gun turn-ins are colossal wastes of time, resources, and Other People's Money.  What?....you didn't think Rahm Emanuel was kicking in the 100 bucks per piece on Saturday did you?
  • Hey, here's a candidate for the worst thing I've ever heard.  Last year, Loretta Robinson's son Justin was killed by a drunk driver in Greenville, SC..  By the way, the drunk driver, Anna Gonzalez, is an illegal immigrant who has been in this country for 12 years and has never had a driver's license.  If that isn't outrageous enough, Ms. Robinson received a bill for $50 from the city for cleaning the street of her son's blood.  So.....it's not enough to just allow illegal immigrants into our country, provide them healthcare, education, employment...  Now we have to pay to clean up after them when they murder our children.  Anybody had enough yet?

Oh gee, I don't know what makes me think this is a bad thing.
  • The Arab Spring that swept Hosni Mubarak from power in Egypt was roundly hailed by Dear Leader as the beginnings of freedom, tolerance, and equality in the Arab world. Uh, not so much.  Muslim Brotherhood puppet Mohammed Morsi won the presidential run-off election in Egypt over the weekend.  If you are a U.S. citizen or a Christian of any nationality in Egypt, run, don't walk to the nearest embassy and get out of the country.  It is lost.

  • Let's end on a more lighthearted note this week.....I was trying to do some research on amphibious assault over the weekend, but all I could find was this....

Cavernous Trachea Returns! Obama Letter to Karl Marx

The Crew spent a relaxing weekend in the SACSTW secret Ozark compound.  As he opened his tackle box to do a little early morning fishing, he found a now-familiar envelope with a note attached.  The note said, "I hope you enjoy BHO's latest epistle to his role-model and hero, Karl Marx.  Dear Leader seems a little frazzled. Your friend, CT."  He transmitted the text to me through the SACSTW satellite up-link.  I hope you enjoy it as much as we did:
Dear Karl,
I'm at my wits end!  It's not my fault.  What's with the gag-order from above?  I'm just following the Saul Alinsky play-book as closely as I can.  I mean why are George and Warren insisting that I quit speaking in public?  They want to see more Joe Biden?  I realize they see him as assassination insurance.  Holder put it best when he said, "Joe Biden can stop a bullet from leaving the barrel of a gun just by opening his mouth.  Joe's lunacy is more protection than three inches of Kevlar."  But why do they want me to stop speaking from the heart?  There's no way that Mittens can beat me.
America NEEDS me to sympathize with them.  Americans don't want freedom. They want protection.  They don't want liberty.  They want comfort.  They don't want sacrifice. They want fairness.  I am just providing avenues by my words and deeds to give them what they want.
So what if I called to commiserate with Sandra Fluke but not Bridget Palin?  Who cares that I said my beloved fictitious son looks just like Trayvon Martin and ignored my other fictitious sons when they set fire to a young boy in KCMO.  (Heh, pulled some strings and you can't even find the story on the Kansas City Star's website anymore.)  What difference does it make if I tell the Supreme Court to back off and keep its mitts off my healthcare power grab?  People want me to take care of them.
Like I told my old buddy Meddy, once I've finished off Mittens this fall, I'll have more "flexibility".  That was pretty smooth of me.  A couple more like-minded justices and I won't have to worry about that pesky "constitution" interfering with my plans to fundamentally transform America.
Hey!  There's Stanley, my unicorn, here for our evening ride on the south lawn.  He shows up now even without those wonderful shots they used to give me.  They do insist that I eat my pudding however...  Oh well Karl, thanks for listening.  Gotta fly!
Your undying fan,
Barry

Just like in Sahib Jr.'s backpack, The Crew found gum drops next to the letter in his tackle box.  Hmmm....

Obama vs the U.S. Constitution- Round 3

Amidst all the finger pointing, death threats, and general mayhem going on in Sanford, FL this week, let's not forget that meanwhile our constitutional republic has been fighting for its very life.

Recapping Obama vs the Constitution to this point.....

Round 1 saw the Constitution deliver a sharp jab to Obama, rocking him back on his heels.  Dear Leader rebounded in Round 2, forcing his recess appointments past the Constitution's defenses.  Bloodied but unbowed, the venerable champ now takes aim at the "transformational" upstart in Round 3- Obamacare.

After 3 days, the arguments before the Supreme Court on Obamacare have ended.  Most observers in the court room have indicated it has been a very bad week for Dear Leader and the obamination that is the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.

Monday arguments centered around whether the fee imposed on those who don't comply with the individual mandate is in fact a penalty or a tax.  This is a critical point, as it gives the Supreme Court its standing to render an opinion.  If the fee is deemed a tax, then SCOTUS can not rule on it until someone has actually paid the tax, which won't occur until 2014.  If the fee is a penalty, then the court has the ability to rule on it now.  Throw out the lawyer-speak, and let's examine those two words.  A tax is a sum assessed based on a citizen's actions, ie the purchase of a vehicle, the earning of income, the ownership of a home.  A penalty is assessed for a citizen's inaction, i.e. the failure to file a tax return, the failure to comply with local codes, etc.  If we allow the government to "tax" us for actions we don't take, then we have lost what little freedom we have left.

Tuesday was the real centerpiece of the case, with discussions of the constitutionality of the individual mandate taking center stage.  U.S Solicitor General Donald Verrilli argued Obama's case.  Undercover SACSTW correspondents were able to smuggle out video of Verrilli's appearance before the court, Verrilli is the one in the white trunks...........

The Obama administration maintains that the individual mandate is permissible under "the commerce clause" of the U.S. Constitution (Article 1, Section 8).  The clause reads.."[The Congress shall have Power] To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian tribes;".  Commerce of course, is economic activity.  Buying, selling, manufacturing, shipping, etc.  Commerce is not economic inactivity.  An individual who does not buy health insurance is NOT participating in commerce.  It is as simple as that.

The individual mandate in Obamacare is the most venomous threat to our liberties that the progressive left has ever concocted.  It was summed up beautifully by Justice Kennedy when he said that the individual mandate "changes the relationship of the government to the individual in a very fundamental way".  You bet it does.  If the individual mandate is upheld by the court, then the great American experiment is over.

Yesterday, the court heard arguments about the "severability" of the individual mandate.  In other words, if the mandate is properly struck down as unconstitutional, does that invalidate the entire Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  Of course it does.  Some on the left would have you believe that the individual mandate can just be "carved out" of Obamacare, leaving the rest of its odious and onerous provisions standing.  That's like the car dealership telling you they can lower the price of your new car by selling it to you without wheels.  The mandate is what allows Obamacare to function, without it the entire bill must be abandoned.

Make no mistake folks, this is it.  This is the fight for the very existence of the American way of life that Barack Obama has been itching for since he said this 5 days before the 2008 election..

The future of our nation, the oceans of blood we have shed for our freedom, the chance for our children and grandchildren to live as free citizens of the greatest nation on Earth, all of this now hangs in the balance.

Obama and Ginsburg: Founding Fathers? Hacks!

'The Forgotten Man' by Jon McNaughton . Buy the print HERE!

Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg

Editor's note:  This post is a little longer than most, but trust me, the payoff at the end is worth it! :)

I admit it.  I have a colossal man-crush on the U.S. Constitution.  To think that our Founders crafted a document that has withstood liberal progressive onslaught for over 220 years is simply awe-inspiring.  To this American, the Constitution is our nation's most precious commodity, our greatest contribution to humanity.  It is a shining beacon of freedom, giving hope to the oppressed all across the globe that like the Founders, they too have a chance to shed the manacles of tyranny.

Unfortunately, not every American feels this way.  Even more unfortunately, two of those are President Barack Hussein Obama and Supreme Court Justice Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg.

I do have to give Dear Leader points for openly admitting his contempt and scorn for the Constitution during his recent interview with NBC's Matt Lauer.  Keep in mind, these words were spoken by a man who swore an oath to "preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States. Sayeth Obama....

What's frustrated people is that I have not been able to FORCE (emphasis mine) Congress to implement every aspect of what I said in 2008.  Well, you know, it turns out our Founders designed a system that makes it more difficult to bring about change than I would like sometimes.

There is is folks, everything you need to know about Barack Hussein Obama, distilled down into 48 of his own despicable words.  Freedom loving Americans should be very thankful that the Founders designed the system that they did.  More than 200 years ago, they could foresee a tyrant want-to-be gaining the highest office in the land, and they knew what to do about that possibility.  Just more evidence of the true agenda of Barack Hussein Obama, and of the brilliant foresight of the men in that Philadelphia room during the summer of 1787.

At least we can be comforted that the Supreme Court of the United States stands ready to "support and defend" our Constitution, as their oath of office requires.  Yeah, maybe not so much.  Justice Buzzi Ginsburg was interviewed on Egyptian TV recently.  The reporter asked her where Egypt's leaders should turn for guidance in crafting the structure and foundation of a new Egyptian government.  You might think this was a slam-dunk question for a SCOTUS justice, you would be wrong.  Sayeth Buzzi Ginsburg....

I would not look to the U.S. Constitution if I were drafting a constitution in the year 2012.  I might look at the constitution of South Africa.  That was a deliberate attempt to have a fundamental instrument of government that embraced basic human rights, had an independent judiciary, it really is, I think, a great piece of work that was done.

Now, doesn't that give you a warm, fuzzy feeling that Justice Ginsburg is using the U.S. Constitution as her guiding force when ruling from the bench of the highest court in the land?  Me neither.  Being the dutiful blogger I am, I read the constitution of South Africa, and encourage you to do the same here.  It's a hoot!  Be forewarned, the document is a lengthy and verbose thesis on the theory and application of liberal statism.  I particularly liked its Bill of Rights, which outlines the cradle to grave governmental dependency that liberal whackjobs like Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg can really revel in.  It also every now and then sounds like it was written by an 9 year old girl.  For example, I give you section 9, subsections 3 through 5.....

(3)  The state may not unfairly discriminate directly or indirectly against anyone on one or more grounds, including race, gender, sex, pregnancy, marital status, ethnic or social origin, colour, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, conscience, belief, culture, language and birth.

(4) No person may unfairly discriminate directly or indirectly against anyone on one or more grounds in terms of subsection (3).  National legislation must be enacted to prevent or prohibit unfair discrimination.

And now the punchline.....

(5) Discrimination on one or more of the grounds listed in subsection (3) is unfair unless it is established that the discrimination is fair.

That's just one example of the lunacy that Justice Ruth Buzzi Ginsburg sees as "a great piece of work" that is superior and more desirable than the United States Constitution.  As for Justice Ginsburg herself, she hasn't done a great piece of work since this.......
