Prayers For Aurora Today

As most of our U.S. readers probably know by now, a gunman opened fire in an Aurora, CO movie theater last night during the premiere of The Dark Knight Rises.  At this writing, the death toll stands at 12, with dozens more injured.

President Obama has said he is "shocked and saddened" by the events in Aurora, and that politics can wait for another day, today is a day for "prayer and reflection".  He is absolutely right.  This latest mass shooting may have significant political and policy ramifications, and SACSTW will follow those very closely.

Today however, we ask our readers to join us in praying for the victims of this crime, their families, and the entire Aurora community.  We applaud the quick work of law enforcement that resulted in the shooter's capture, and the response of the emergency medical responders and trauma physicians that no doubt kept the death toll from climbing even higher.  Please keep all those involved in your thoughts today.
